The First Descendant boasts a number of exceptional weapons that can help you and your friends beat the RPG shooter with ease. From classic shotguns to futuristic beam rifles, upgrading your weapons strengthens your Descendant.
As a new release, there is still a lot to learn about this looter shooter, especially about the weapon levels, as many players seem to be confused.
What Is the Max Weapon Level in The First Descendant?
As of right now, the maximum Proficiency level for your weapon in The First Descendant is 30, and the Weapon level is 36.
The Proficiency level depends on how much you use a weapon to kill enemies. On the other hand, your Weapon level is about the overall stats and damage output of a specific gun.
How to Level Up Your Weapons in The First Descendant
When you play the game with a specific gun, you will keep leveling up its Proficiency. Higher Proficiency levels will get your hands on more weapon modules that can make your guns stronger.

The Weapon level, in contrast, is a bit more difficult to upgrade. Here’s the process:
- Go to Anais in Albion
- Use Superallow and Gold to research a Phase Exchanger
- Find a workbench
- Go to Weapon Level Transmission
- Select a weapon to level up
It takes 2,500 Gold and 50 Superallow to research Phase Exchangers. A regular Phase Exchanger will only work with weapons that have Common and Rare rarities. For ultimate weapons, you will need a Precision Phase Exchanger.
