The long-anticipated Indiana Jones game developed by MachineGames and published by Bethesda Softworks is rumored to be releasing in 2024.
This information was revealed by Tom Henderson of Insider Gaming, who claims ‘sources close to the game’ have disclosed this new data. Based on documents released during Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard, Bethesda had hoped to release the title in the third quarter of 2022. However, the release was delayed due to obstacles in the development process, caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The upcoming Xbox Director Direct showcase, set to take place on Thursday, January 18 will feature more than 10 minutes of game and developer insight into the new Indiana Jones game. Players can expect to find out details about the game, its story, and the setting. The showcase will also feature the first-ever gameplay trailer for the upcoming game.
With multiple release rumors about the game floating around through the years, I am unsure whether Xbox and the developer can maintain the current development trajectory and adhere to this rumored 2024 release window. If it does indeed release in 2024, it would be a crowning jewel in Xbox’s proposed releases for 2024, which already include many anticipated titles, such as Avowed, Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2, and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024.
