Ten days after the launch of Lords of the Fallen, CI Games has released a new patch today. The v1.1.224 update offers improved gameplay, new game mode, crossplay features, and much more.
One of the most significant changes in the latest Lords of the Fallen patch is with New Game Plus. After completing the game, players can now choose to retain their character to repeat a run through the same NG level or move onto the more difficult NG+ level. According to the patch notes:
“You can replay the current NG at the same difficulty, albeit retaining your character, items and progression, but resetting the entire world, including NPCs and questlines. This will allow trophy hunters and completionists to seek out any outstanding tasks without having to contend with increased difficulty, should they so choose.”
Further, the developers confirmed they are working on an ‘NG+ modifier system’ that will enable players to customize the game mode as they wish.
The new Lords of the Fallen update also improves the ‘leashing’ system. Earlier, hordes of enemies could pursue the player when rushing through a level, but the patch 1.1.224 limits the distance to which the enemies will go after the players. The next patch, which is supposed to be out on Thursday this week, will reduce the number of enemies present in some of the difficult areas (at least for the initial playthrough and not the NG+ mode).
As announced earlier, CI Games is working to enable crossplay for Lords of the Fallen. It is now confirmed that crossplay on consoles will be enabled next Monday, and all platforms will have the feature enabled by next Thursday.
How To Regain Progression In Lords of the Fallen
If you were facing issues while saving progression due to the previous 1.1.215 version of the game, you can now restore your characters up to the original level by writing to the support team. According to the build notes on Steam, these are the following steps to recover your progression if you have a corrupted save file in Lords of the Fallen:
- Create a new character and save the game.
- Send an email to support@cigames.com with your new character save file attached. Include the name of your character and the level you want restored.
- The devs will send the save file back with the vigor skulls required to attain the same level.
- Restart the playthrough with the new save file, and you will now be able to regain your progress quickly.
If you are facing the co-op savegame glitch on Lords of the Fallen v.1.1.215, follow the same steps mentioned above.

Enemy Density
- We’ve improved the leashing system where enemies will stop pursuing you after a certain distance (varies by situation). This prevents overwhelming crowds of enemies if you rush through a map section.
