Mashle: Magic And Muscles manga-turned-anime has the premise of the famous reoccurring “overpowered protagonist” theme that certainly features an unbothered and unmatching power-scaling protagonist.
While there is no doubt that the titular protagonist will wind up as the strongest character due to the series’ narrative, it is interesting to see where other characters might stand. Thus, we have consolidated a list of the 9 strongest characters from the Mashle: Magic and Muscles series that excludes the titular protagonist.
Warning: This article contains spoilers from the Mashle manga.
9) Famin
In the final arc of the series, the readers of the Mashle manga series are introduced to the Devil’s Quintuplets, who serve as the ‘children’ of the main antagonist. Among the Devil’s quintuplets, we have Famin, the second strongest among the siblings.
Famin has a clown-like appearance which best fits the look similar to Hisoka’s from Hunter X Hunter. Given the fact that Famin is somewhat like a joker, his magical prowess doesn’t go far from his appearance.
Using cards instead of a wand, Famin can use them to attack his opponents but that’s not where his true magic abilities lie. Famin can use transparency on the objects that aid him best in the battle where he uses them as surprising attacks or as a shield.
8) Orter Madl
It might surprise one to mention Orter Madl at the bottom of the list considering that he had defeated Famin with a single shot. But the contenders for this list only rise with their physical abilities.
Orter Madl is more or less like Gaara from Naruto having the same ability as the latter to manipulate sand as he wishes. Sands themselves are a very strong natural element and with Orter Madl manipulating them, he can even stop Mashle’s strongest punches without any effort.
In addition to this, his Thirds allows him to call an unnamed god of the sand whose true power is not measurable. Orter even fought Doom at 70%, the second-strongest character of Mashle according to this list.
7) Renatus Revol
Taking takings up a notch, we have Renatus Revol who is an immoral necromancer. Just as the word suggests, Renatus cannot die and can control the dead as well. Like Orter Madl, he is also a third liner and his Thirds is somewhat even more powerful than Orter’s in the series.
Renatus can summon the god of death, Thanatos using his third. However, what makes his Thirds different from other third-liners is how the god of death, Thanatos, can be upgraded to fight on his own. In addition to his amazing contribution against the Devil’s Quintuplets, Renatus is also in charge of punishing the criminals.
6) Ryoh Grantz
It is not surprising that this list is comprised of Divine Visionaries mostly as it is the title one can only hope to achieve. Among the Divine Visionary, Ryoh Grantz hypothetically acquires a higher place due to his role as the captain of the Magic Security Force.
Ryoh is the only one besides Wahlberg who can face Adam’s darkness and even Innocent Zero’s time magic. His magical abilities allow him to manipulate light, something that bods well with his personality. Given that he is a third liner, he has no difficulty summoning a god of light, using his Thirds.
Ryoh managed to fight the strongest Devil’s Quintuplets at 80% in addition to fighting Innocent Zero and stopping Adam’s space-erasing magic.
5) Meliadoul Amy
The only female character in this list is one of the three pupils of Adam Jobs besides Wahlberg and Innocent Zero. The true extent and content of Meliadoul Amy are hard to explain but it does provide her the physical strength that matches Mash and Doom at their early stages.
In addition to being physically strong which comes from her cellular magic, Meliadoul Amy can also use healing magic, which only a few characters have achieved in Mashle. Last but not least, the reason why she stands out from the others is due to her Moly Staff which can deflect any dark magic, making her Innocent Zero’s mortal enemy.
4) Wahlberg Baigan
At first look, one can easily make up that Wahlberg is made in reference to Harry Porter’s Albus Dumbledore. Much like the latter, Wahlberg also serves as the Headmaster of the magical school but his intention is not to raise Mash as a pig to slaughter unlike Dumbledore did with Harry.
Wahlberg is also one of the three pupils of Adam Jobs and possibly the latter’s favorite as well. He wields the power of manipulating space and this is what makes him one of the strongest magic users to exist. The reason why Innocent Zero became as strong as he did is due to him stealing Wahlberg’s magic. Even then, Wahlberg can give a second liner and some third liner a run for their money.
3) Adam Jobs
Adam Jobs is the reason why the Bureau of Magic and the magical life exist in the first place. However, he is not the reason for the discrimination due to the magic as it has sadly developed over time. As the father of the magical foundation, Adam was the strongest magic user to exist in his time teaching the three strongest pupils.
Little is known about his magical prowess. Adam possesses the magic of darkness, which allows him to nullify the magic of every other. While his Thirds was never revealed, fans have speculated that it allows Adam to summon the God of Darkness, Lucifer.
2) Doom
The strongest of the Devil’s Quintuplets, Doom is a typical overpowered antagonist that gets served at the end of the series forcing every supporting character into defeat. Doom was never defeated until he met his match with Mash.
Doom possessed all the abilities of a magic user including a Seconds, Thirds, and even a Master Cane. Only a few have been deemed to possess a master cane that not even Innocent Zero has. Doom is the epitome of a character with physical strength who does not need magic to defeat his opponent.
But like all the other overpowered abilities, the magical ability that Doom possesses makes him almost impossible to beat and if it weren’t for the running gag of the Mashle series, Doom would never lose to anyone.
1) Innocent Zero
It was inevitable for the main antagonist to take the first spot in this list as we are making this listicle without the titular protagonist. Innocent Zero possesses the power to manipulate time which allows him to do all sorts of wonderful things such as making people a hundred years old with just a touch or bringing a person back to life with only a small fragment of their body.
Innocent Zero is a quintessential villain who wants to rule the world and come to the top. In addition to calling the god of time, Chronos, Innocent Zero also has a demonic form and a god-like form. If it wasn’t for Mash, there is no doubt that he would have achieved it all thanks to his ability to steal magic too.
