Ever since the launch of Helldivers 2, players have been complaining about the dwindling numbers of viable weaponry. It would seem that with each update, more and more weapons would get nerfed, leaving only a few weapons that can get the job done. But, after the Helldivers 2 buff patch, everything was balanced in a way that made tons of weapons viable again. Here are the new best weapons to use in Helldivers 2 after the buff patch.

Best Weapons After The Buff Patch Update In Helldivers 2
The days of only using Breaker Incendiary and Liberator Penetrator as your primary weapons are now long gone. Helldivers can now choose from a plethora of viable primary weapons. Even stratagem support weapons got some much-needed buffs.
Here are some of the best weapons after the buff patch update in Helldivers 2:
Primary Weapons
- FLAM-66 Torcher: This was already quite decent as a primary weapon in Helldivers 2 as it allowed you to deal fire damage without using the Flamethrower support weapon. Now, it is very viable against Terminids with the new fire damage buff and can be exceptional in crowd control, something that is always needed when going against Terminids.
- R-36CS Diligence Counter Sniper: The long-range primary weapons were almost unusable due to how weak they felt along with the added crutch of low ammo capacity. But after the buff patch in Helldivers 2, the Diligence Counter Sniper is by far one of the best long-range primary weapons in the game and works wonders in taking out heavy Automaton units.
- CB-9 Exploding Crossbow: if you thought the Crossbow was the worst weapon from the Democratic Detonation Warbond, think again because this is now the best weapon from it. Not only did it get a buff in its damage potential but it now also has massive AoE damage along with staggering capabilities. It can work against both Terminid and Automaton forces.
Secondary Weapons
- LAS-7 Dagger: This one used to be one of the worst secondary weapons in Helldivers 2 and in the Cutting Edge Warbond, but now it is one of the best to have with the laser weapon buff. Because of the laser buff, the Dagger can deal additional DoT fire damage along with its buffed base damage, reduced overheat times, and increased durable damage.
- P-72 Crisper: Obviously since fire damage got a huge buff, having a pocket flamethrower like the Crisper is a no-brainer. If you are running longer-range weapons as your primary and support weapons, the Crisper is now a great choice for your secondary weapon. It can now also penetrate armor faster.
- GP-31 Grenade Pistol: This weapon received a nerf to its ammo capacity in the buff patch in Helldivers 2 yet it retains its position as one of the best secondary weapons to have. This is simply because it allows you to have additional grenades on top of your equipped throwable.
Support Stratagem Weapons
- LAS-98 Laser Cannon: Nobody ever said the Laser Cannon is a bad support weapon by any means but it just lacked that certain factor that made you feel super powerful and able to take down anything in your path. Well, it does exactly that now with its buffed damage and faster cooldown rate. It is best for taking out larger Automaton units like the Devastator with ease.
- ARC-3 Arc Thrower: If you were there back when everyone and their grandma were running around with the Arc Thrower, you would know how powerful it used to be. With the buff patch update in Helldivers 2, it is now back to its former glory and might I say it’s even more powerful now. It can now arc to additional targets than before and has more staggering capabilities.
- RS-422 Railgun: This weapon used to be the go-to support weapon stratagem over everything else before it got heavily nerfed. But now it’s back to being a viable choice for both Terminid and Automatons as it can easily and effectively take out the heaviest of enemies like it used to.
- FLAM-41 Flamethrower: When it comes to the meta weapons before the buff patch in Helldivers 2, this was one of the weapons everyone used and it retained its position after the patch. Not only that but it’s now better than ever since fire damage was buffed, providing for better crowd control and faster DoT damage.
