Lies of P applies the Souls formula by having multiple stats like Motivity, Technique, Advance, etc, that lets you play based on the style you are good at. So when you just want to be a tanky brute that can do massive amounts of damage with each hit, you will need to opt for a strength build. With it, you might be slow but you will hit hard and be extremely good at survivability.
Strength builds in Lies of P mainly focus on the Motivity stat, from leveling up the stat to having weapons that scale based on it. So let’s look into how we can make the ultimate Motivity build in Lies of P.

Stats You Should Prioritize For Lies Of P Strength Build
While Motivity is your main focus for a strength build in Lies of P, you can’t just dump all your ergo into Motivity and call it a day. You still have to utilize the other stats that work coherently with Motivity. So, here are the stats that you need to focus on most, starting from the highest priority to the lowest:
Motivity
Motivity is your main stat for a strength build as it increases your Physical ATK done by weapon attacks and Legion Arm Offensive Abilities. Simply put, the more Motivity you have, the greater your per-hit damage will be. It also provides boosts to Physical, Fire, Electric Blitz, and Acid Defensive Abilities.
Vigor
Vigor directly affects your Stamina and how much of it you have. Strength-based builds need to have high stamina because you will likely be using heavy weapons that take a significant amount of stamina per attack. Not only that but constantly blocking and parrying attacks will also require a lot of stamina.
Vitality
Vitality is required to make your character able to tank more hits before needing to heal as it increases your total HP. This is another crucial part of a Lies of P strength build because the lack of mobility in this build means you will need to be able to survive even with a few hits. Blocking attacks also do partial damage and high Vitality allows you to block as much as possible.
Capacity
Capacity determines how much weight you can carry. It also decides how capable you can be with the Legion Arm. A low Capacity stat would result in you being overburdened which will make your character do slow and clunky dodge rolls and reduce your speed overall. While speed isn’t essential for this build, Capacity is still required to manage all the heavy weapons and Legion Arms that you will be using.
Best Motivity Weapons For Lies Of P Strength Build
For the best Lies of P strength build, you are going to require the best weapons that scale well based on your character’s Motivity stat. So here are the weapons you should be using for the ultimate Motivity build that work well with the stats we mentioned earlier:
Big Pipe Wrench
The Big Pipe Wrench certainly lives up to its name of being big. This bad boy has the highest per-hit damage of all weapons in the game. It might be a wrench but it sure hits your enemies like a train.
The blade Fable Art on this weapon is called Patient Smash which lets you hold down your attack button to deal a massive charged attack with some absurd damage numbers. The Handle of this weapon has another Fable Art called Payback Swing which is a powerful slash that gets buffed if you hit it after guarding an enemy strike.
Noblesse Oblige
For the blunt weapon fans, the Noblesse Oblige is a perfect weapon for a Motivity build in Lies of P. It is a big fat club with spikes on it that can deal some massive damage to your enemies as you smash them with it.
It is also somewhat of a gambler’s weapon as the Fable Art on it called Ergo Release lets you consume Ergo to increase the damage of your weapon. Not only that but its second Fable Art called Endure also costs Ergo but in exchange, it gives you more damage reduction temporarily.
Frozen Feast
If you feel like you are too damn slow playing as a Motivity build character, then look no further than the Frozen Feast. On the surface, it looks like just another Greatsword, just maybe a bit more fancy; but its uniqueness lies in its Fable Art.
The Fable Art on the Frozen Feast is called Liberate. Activating this instantly releases your weapon which temporarily increases your ATK speed by a lot. This effect can stack 4x which can make your attacks incredibly fast considering you are supposed to be a slow and hard-hitting character.
That’s not all, it also satisfies the heavy hard-hitting attack fantasy with its second Fable Art known as Single Slash. This will make your character gather all his strength and then burst into a big forward-reaching slash that can hit multiple enemies while dealing the same massive damage to each.
Legion Arms For Lies Of P Strength Build
When it comes to Legion Arms, they are mostly situation-based rather than build-based. Some areas will benefit from having a certain Legion Arm based on the type of engagements that happen there.
However, Legion Arms do require a decent amount of Capacity stat which our Lies of P Strength build benefits from since we focused on that stat. This will open up far greater options than characters with a lower Capacity.
Puppet String
The classic Puppet String Legion Arm works wonders to compensate for the slow nature of a Motivity character build. Having to guard too many attacks before you can even reach your enemy? Just use the Puppet String to pull them right in front of you where they won’t stand a chance. A fully upgraded one will even allow you to pull yourself to an enemy and follow up with a devastating hard-hitting attack.
Falcon Eyes
Yet another Legion Arm that works as compensation for the slow movement, the Falcon Eyes will allow you to engage in ranged combat. Where this shines is – when you are trying to close the distance to your target, you can use the ranged attacks to build high amounts of stagger damage on an enemy. Once staggered, you will easily be able to walk up to the enemy and hit them with a mighty blow.
Defensive Parts & Amulets For Lies Of P Strength Build
When it comes to Defensive Parts for this build, you actually don’t need any. Since you will focus on Vitality and generally be quite defensive because of the Motivity stat defense bonuses, you are better off without Defensive Parts as you still need to manage your weight and those add a lot of weight.
As for Amulets, here are all the potential choices you should be going for to create the ultimate Motivity build in Lies of P:
Amulet | Effect |
---|---|
Blue Guardianship Amulet | Increases the max amount of HP, Stamina, and Legion. |
Leaping Amulet | Increases max Stamina. |
Iron Wall Amulet | Increases Physical Damage Reduction Rate. |
Strength Amulet | Motivity +4. Can be increased to Motivty +6 and Motivity +9 with each upgrade. |
The choice of Amulets is quite flexible. Pick them based on what is required for your choices. So, if you focused less on Vigor compared to other stats and find yourself losing out on stamina, then you should be going for something like the Leaping Amulet.
If you went for a high-damage weapon that scales heavily off of Motivity, then consider putting on the Strength Amulet as it will buff your Motivity stat by a lot.
That is all you need to know on how to make the ultimate Lies of P Strength build. Since you will need to manage your weight in a Motivity build, you might also be interested in reading our comprehensive guide on weight limits in Lies of P.
