Rise of the Ronin is one of the biggest releases of 2024, and it looks like the game’s download size on the PS5 is going to match its massive hype.
Popular X creator PlayStation Game Size revealed in a new post that Rise of the Ronin will be 96.343 GB large. This is not at all surprising considering the game has a massive open world, something players sorely missed in Ghost of Tsushima.
Keep in mind though that the aforementioned download size may change closer to or after the release due to day 1 patches. Those who get the disc version may notice a slightly different install size initially before the latest updates are applied.
But that’s not it; we also know the preload date. Players who pre-order Rise of the Ronin will be able to preload it starting March 15 at Midnight ET, exactly a week before launch. Given the massive download size, this one-week window will give players enough time to make space on their PS5 (or get a bigger SSD).
The promos for Rise of the Ronin showcase a beautiful 19th century Japan, and the latest-gen graphics of the open-world game are clearly the reason for the game’s huge download size. In comparison, Ghost of Tsushima had a download size of around 64 GB (without day 1 patches).
Rise of the Ronin will release exclusively for PS5 on March 22, 2024.
