But for people who have completed the game or spoiler alert for those who have not, Cyberpunk’s end game witnesses V’s tragic demise.
So, you must be wondering at what point in time in the whole Cyberpunk 2077 storyline Phantom Liberty comes into play. Well, here are all the answers you were looking for.

The first Phantom Liberty quest unlocks immediately after you have finished the Transmission quest and have met the Voodoo Boys’ Maman Brigitte. You will get a call from Songbird informing you about the next steps you need to take for the DLC.
Meaning, the events of this Cyberpunk DLC take place at around 50% of the game’s main storyline. This seems like a delightful surprise since you can once again play as the main character V before their death.
When do I play the Phantom Liberty Expansion?
If you have already finished Cyberpunk’s main storyline, you can log into the game and wait for Songbird’s phone call, and if you are a completely new player, you can start Phantom Liberty missions after you are done with Act 1 of the game.
You also get a chance to immediately skip to the events of the DLC through the main menu if it’s your first time playing Cyberpunk.
Can we save V with the new Phantom Liberty Expansion?
There is no confirmation regarding any changes to V’s death at the end of Cyberpunk with the release of the new Phantom Liberty Expansion.

Cyberpunk 2077’s new DLC expansion Phantom Liberty is set to be released on September 26, 2023, on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X. This new expansion brings in a new thrilling questline, some revamped cyberware and UI, challenging boss fights as well new characters, vehicles, weapons, and many more items.
Phantom Liberty adds a new area to Night City
The Phantom Liberty expansion not only features a new character like Solomon Reed played by actor Idris Alba, but also brings in a new area to the night city map known as Dogtown. Dogtown is located in the southwestern part of the map where the entire guarded area is brimming with armed militia and tough opponents. V’s journey to solve the Arusaka heist issues takes them to this heavily guarded location for a spy-like adventure.
