Starfield despite all the remarkable developments is still a Todd Howard game which means, tons of easter eggs. While the game is still months away, Starfield Direct deep dive had quite a few easter eggs and callbacks which are worth exploring.
Adoring Fan
If you were to choose the ‘Hero Worshiped’ trait in Starfield you will instantly be bestowed with one of Bethesda’s most annoying yet lovable NPCs, the Adoring fan from The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion. In Oblivion, the adoring fan appears after you become Arena Grand Champion. He is probably the most pestering NPC ever and Starfield unleashes him if you were to choose the trait. On the plus side, he gives some goodies every day; but if you had enough of his jabbering, you can get rid of him for good, as was foreshadowed in the Starfield Direct.

New Atlantis Est. 2161
In Starfield Direct and prior Constellation Logs, New Atlantis has been revealed to be the capital city of the United Colonies on Planet Jemison. The entrance to the city has a welcome sign that indicates that it was established in the 2161. This is the same year that the events of the original Fallout game take place. The game in real life was released by Black Isle Studios in 1997. It is unclear if there is more to the mention of the year than just the easter egg.
Star Trek Reference
In one of the shots in Starfield Direct, there are three characters donning similar attires as members of the Starfleet from Star Trek: The Next Generation. The uniform color schemes are eerily similar even denoting the position and rank each uniform had in the show.

Skyrim Grandma
A space exploration segment of the Starfield Direct deep dive features a player stumbling upon a spaceship belonging to a character named Grandma. The kind old lady invites the player and offers them food. This is surely a reference to Shirley Curry, popularly known as the Skyrim Grandma, who has a YouTube channel where she uploads gaming videos. Todd Howard had confirmed that Shirley will be a character in The Elder Scrolls 6.
Rage Quit Button
Glitches and other issues in Bethesda games at times have made them unplayable and many of us have rage quit. It is perhaps this knowledge that made them include this cheeky ‘Rage Quit’ button on the spaceship console. Maybe a forewarning of things to come or just a cheeky Bethesda easter egg, only time will tell.
