Destiny 2’s Iron Banner quests are made for the hardcore PvP players as they grind to become the best. Scour the Rust is one such Iron Banner quest that is fairly easier than some of the other ones but will still require some tough challenges to complete. Destiny 2 even introduced a rework to the Iron Banner during the Season of the Haunted that changes it to a Rift game type instead of Control.
In the quest, there are many different challenges that you will need to tick off the list as you go. This is why we have made it easier to understand by summarizing it all in one place.
All Quest Steps For Scour The Rust Pursuit In Destiny 2
Scour the Rust is an Iron Banner Pursuit that has multiple different steps with its own set of challenges. You can only move on to the next step once all the challenges from the previous steps are done. Completing each step will give you the reward associated with it. This quest can be acquired from Lord Saldin at the Tower.
Quest Step | Challenges | Rewards |
---|---|---|
Spectacle | Defeat 30 opponents Capture 10 zones Get 3 Super Final blows | Claws of the Wolf Pulse Rifle Iron Banner Gauntlets |
Intent | Complete 6 matches Capture 20 zones Get 25 Final blows with Pulse Rifle | Wizened Rebuke Fusion Rifle Iron Banner Boots |
Timing | Get 20 Final blows with Fusion Rifle Capture 30 zones Defeat 100 opponents | The Hero’s Burden SMG Iron Banner Helmet |
Execution | Get 15 Final blows with SMG Get 15 Super Final blows Capture 40 zones | Iron Banner Chest Armor |
Conviction | Capture 50 zones Complete 15 matches Get 10 Super Final blows | Iron Banner Class Item |
Lastly, there is also a final step called Forgeborne which simply requires you to return to Lord Saladin and finish the full quest. Completing Scour the Rust Iron Banner Pursuit will give you access to Enhanced Armor Mods as its final reward after the last step.
The first few steps like Spectacle and Intent are easy enough and quite straightforward. Only the Pulse Rifle challenge requires you to use a specific gun here, others can be achieved easily without even actually going for it.
Things start to get challenging once you get to Timing as one of the challenges for it is to defeat 100 opponents which can take a while depending on your skill level. Not only that but you will have to play more objective-focused to get 30 zone captures.
The final steps Execution and Conviction will require even more objective play for both. With Execution, you will need to focus on the Final Blows. And ultimately, Conviction will require the most amount of zone captures among all the other steps.
