Where Is Pieta Located In Lords Of The Fallen?

Pieta can be found standing in front of the Skyrest Bridge Cathedral, right after you have crossed the Redcopse Windmill Vestige. As soon as you enter her arena, a cutscene will initialize your epic battle.
Although the first boss in the game, she is quite a powerful enemy, so make sure you have all your movements memorized and proceed with caution.
How To Defeat Pieta In Lords Of The Fallen
Pieta, She of Blessed Renewal is a Radiant type boss in Lords of the Fallen. Meaning, radiant attacks don’t work on her. Instead, try Rhogar type attacks like fire spells. If you have the Pyric Cultist with Inferno abilities, then use fire magic to inflict damage on this boss from a distance.
But if your character is a radiant starting class that does less damage to Pieta due to the debuff, you can also call the Iron Wayfarer to help you win this battle. Alternatively, since Lords of the Fallen supports multiplayer, you can team up with a Rhogar friend to fight this boss together as a unit.
Now, let’s break down the first phase of her battle.
Phase 1
In the first phase, Pieta usually sticks to the ground and does close combat swings with her super-long holy sword. The wide swings leave you plenty of time to fight back and also give you a chance to stagger her while she recovers from each sword swing during the battle. To improve your chances of victory in this phase, check out our guide on staggering and backstabbing in Lords of the Fallen.
For better damage dealt to the enemy, you can also lace your weapons with fire salts so that the fire damage happens over time. Just make sure to dodge on time and you will leave phase 1 unscathed.
Pieta has some fixed move sets for Phase 1 which include:
Move | Description | Counter |
Sword Stab | She lunges forward to stab you with her sword. | Dodge the attack or block if you are able to. |
Wide Swing | She swings her sword in a wide motion which is often done twice. | Dodge the swings and attack her in between. |
Beam | She holds her sword up and unleashes a beam of laser like light on you. | Since the beam is linear, just quickly move away from the line of attack. |
Jump Swing | Pieta swings her sword to the ground in a jumping motion. | Either avoid the move ad keep a distance or side-step away. |
You can also Soul Flay using your Umbral Lamp during the ground phase of Pieta’s battle. Once she loses one-third of her health, she will transform into a flying warrior and initiate phase 2 of this grand battle.
Phase 2
Pieta will mostly deal with aerial attacks in phase 2. She will utilize her wings to do damage to a widespread area and often launch AoE attacks. It will be much harder to dodge her attacks on time since space will be limited in this phase.
You can utilize your ranged weapons and throwables during this part of the fight. Ammunition pouches can replenish your throwables like grenades, fire bombs, etc. When she swoops in to attack, she will stagger for a brief moment and try to catch her breath. That is your chance to launch melee attacks on her and chip off her health bar bit by bit.
Pieta’s fixed move sets in Phase 2 include:
Move | Description | Counter |
Aerial Melee | She attacks with her sword but from above the ground. | Dodge the attack or block if you are able to. |
Aerial Lunge | She lunges forward and slams her sword into the ground. | Dodge the lunge and attack when she recovers. |
Dive | She spreads her wings and dives in a straight line. | Since the dive is linear, just quickly move aside from the line of attack. |
Rain of Swords | Tons of swords rain down on your general vicinity, one section at a time. | Keep an eye out for the suspended swords and avoid their supposed landing areas. |
Specter and Winged Specters | Temporarily, Pieta will release astral forms of her own self to try to harm you on the ground or from above. | Dodge the ground specter’s attacks and try to avoid the winged specters’ dive attacks by finding the gap in between. |
Double Swords | She will launch double swords towards you. | Dodge the ground specter’s attacks and try to avoid the winged specter’s dive attacks by finding the gap in between. |
If you can manage to dodge effectively and attack at the right moments, Pieta will eventually be defeated, leaving behind tons of rewards for you to grab.
