XDefiant is an upcoming arena-based shooter by Ubisoft that is said to be in direct competition with Call of Duty. It features a similar 6v6 arena-style FPS gameplay with a higher focus on objective-based modes rather than modes like team death matches, free-for-all, etc. Since Call of Duty also has Warzone, will XDefiant have its own Battle Royale mode as well? Let’s find out.
Does XDefiant have Battle Royale?
No, XDefiant does not have a battle royale mode and is unlikely to add one later in its lifecycle. The developers have said they will not create a Battle Royale or resurgence-type mode since they can heavily split the player base and potentially ruin the experience on both sides.
The core game modes of XDefiant are all 6v6 objective-based modes and the ranked mode that is set to release with the launch of Season 1 will feature a 4v4 setting on the same objective-based game modes. With the Pre-Season at launch, players can expect a practice playlist for this 4v4 ranked format.

While new modes are a part of its roadmap down the line with seasonal updates, a Battle Royale mode for XDefiant is not a part of this development. Not to mention, BR is said to be on its way out as more and more gamers keep expressing how burnt out they are from every multiplayer title trying to implement it.
Also, Warzone has most of the BR player base, and it would be tough to capitalize on this market, which gives even more reason for the developers to refrain from adding a BR-style mode in XDefiant. For now, it’s safe to say that XDefiant will never get a Battle Royale mode, as that would compete with Warzone, Apex, and other established BR titles.
