VGC News editor Andy Robinson has taken to Twitter, following the official announcement of Sony’s PlayStation Showcase 2023. He has hinted towards the addition of the Metal Gear games in this showcase saying,

The tweet has attracted a lot of attention, with gamers speculating what other titles might make the cut.

The capitalized G in the geared has fans excited, some predicting Metal Gear remake, while other debating that it means Gears of War release. While Andy Robinson hasn’t made any comments about this, he has further replied in the thread, continuing his puns,
‘Bolted like Metal’
This indicates a Metal Gear announcement. Rumors of Metal Gear remake have been surfacing for the past year, with many credible sources confirming the title in development.

Apart from Metal Gear, there also have been rumors about Gears of War coming to PlayStation in the upcoming showcase. Fans are hoping that Sony will announce the launch of Gears of War 6 for PS5 during the event.
Rumors also suggest the revival of Twisted Metal, a popular vehicular combat series for PlayStation. Ever since the game was picked up to be made into a TV series, fans have anticipated its return to Sony’s next-gen consoles. Over the past few years, Sony has determinedly focused on developing TV series/movies based on some of their best-selling titles. Some of them, such as Witcher and The Last of Us, have also been well received, proving to be a success for both adaptations and the games.
Fans have long anticipated that Sony will continue this routine, as the games these adaptations are based on record significant sales even years after the release of the video game titles. After the recently released first look for the new Twisted Metal TV series starring Anthony Mackie, it wouldn’t be surprising if Sony makes the announcement for Twisted Metal PS5 version in the upcoming showcase.
