Naughty Dog, the team that made the really liked The Last of Us games, is telling fans that they are working on more than one new game that is different from The Last of Us. Personally, I think this is great because Naughty Dog is known for its storytelling and universes. Staying in one franchise keeps us from seeing others flourish.
According to an interview with the LA Times, Neil Druckmann, the boss of the studio, just said that Naughty Dog is working on many games. This is especially true for those where you play alone, and the story and characters are really important. This matches what the studio did before, like The Last of Us and Uncharted.

While we don’t know much about these new projects yet, Druckmann suggested that they will focus heavily on storytelling, which Naughty Dog is famous for. We make games that are all about the story and characters, especially their relationships. The stories have a deep meaning that everything will be based on and connected to.

The chance of another The Last of Us Part 3 game is still possible. Druckmann said before that the team is willing to make a follow-up, but only if they can develop a really good story with a powerful message, like the first two games. They had some ideas for a possible part 3 in 2021, but they’ll only make it if the creative team can come up with a new and interesting story.
We’ll have to wait and see what’s coming, but it looks like awesome things are ahead.
