Exoprimal is Capcom’s latest online exo shooter with dinosaurs. Blending both PvE and PvP elements, the game provides players with multiple game modes to jump into action.
Here, we take a look at all of the Exoprimal game modes at offer.
Dinosaur Survival: The main game mode in Exoprimal
The primary game mode in Exoprimal is Dinosaur Survival, which also serves as the game’s story mode. In this mode, players are matched with others in a lobby to progress through the game’s narrative and level up. The objectives and gameplay mechanics may vary depending on your progress in the story, and it incorporates a mix of PvP and PvE elements.
Within the Dinosaur Survival mode, players will encounter different missions that align with the storyline and provide unique challenges. These game modes offer a range of objectives and gameplay mechanics. Let’s explore all of the missions you can expect to encounter in Exoprimal:
1. Special Missions:
These rare missions involve completing specific tasks assigned by Leviathan, advancing the storyline. The tasks can range from defending a specific point to defeating a particular dinosaur.
2. Dinosaur Cull:
In this game mode, players engage in thrilling battles, against types of enemy dinosaurs such as the T. Rex or the resilient Triceratops. It requires planning and coordination to take down these formidable creatures.
3. Dino Pursuit:
This puts you in a pursuit as you track down a dinosaur that frequently changes its location. Here, working together as a team is a must. You would also have to halt the fleeing dinosaur and overcome obstacles along the way.
4. VTOL Defense:
VTOL Defense has players defend a grounded VTOL (Vertical Take Off and Landing) aircraft from waves of attacking dinosaurs. Cooperation and quick reflexes are essential to repel these assaults.
5. Data Key Security:
This mode adopts a capture-the-flag concept, where teams compete to escort a Data Key to a designated location while defending their own. Players must strategize and fend off opponents to secure victory.
6. Omega Charge:
Omega Charge introduces a unique gameplay mechanic, requiring players to destroy target objects and clear pathways using a specialized weapon called the Omega Hammer. The hammer’s power charges based on the number of dinosaurs defeated, allowing players to unleash devastating attacks.
7. Energy Taker:
In Energy Taker, teams compete to collect the most energy scattered throughout the map. Energy can be obtained by claiming dropped energy or defeating hostile exofighters. Players must outmaneuver their opponents and secure victory by accumulating the highest energy count.
8. Escort:
In the Escort mode players have the task of safeguarding NPC characters while they carry out an investigation. It’s crucial to defeat enemies and neutralize any threats that put the NPCs in danger. Collaboration as a team is essential here for achieving success.
9. Neo T. Rex:
Neo T. Rex brings a boss fight experience where players must join forces to defeat a powerful and mutated T. Rex. The battle is intense and, with respawns it adds a challenge that requires players to strategize and coordinate their attacks effectively.
10. Vortexer Sabotage:
In the Vortexer Sabotage mode, you must collaborate with other players to shut down spawn portals that continuously release waves of dinosaurs. You need to defend against attacks, dismantle vortex shields, and disable the portals to put a stop to the dinosaur onslaught.
11. Area Defense:
Similar to VTOL Defense, Area Defense requires players to protect a specific target device from incoming dinosaur hordes. Staying close to the device allows for repairs, but if it is destroyed, the mission is lost.
12. Uplink Control:
Uplink Control introduces a zone capture mode, where teams vie for control over multiple zones simultaneously. Standing within an Uplink zone gradually captures it, but opponents can contest and seize control. The first team to capture all the uplinks emerges victorious.
13. Savage Gauntlet:
Savage Gauntlet serves as an end game mode unlocked once you finish the Exoprimal storyline. It brings together two teams, each consisting of five players in a competition to see who can complete it in the stipulated time. This mode will receive weekly updates with new challenges and is supposed to help with player retention with its dynamic and evolving rules.
