Manor Lords is an exceptional city builder that allows you to create some beautiful and realistic-looking settlements, but when the Outlaws raid your village, they will burn it all down in mere minutes. They are guaranteed to attack in certain intervals and to form capable armies in defense, you will need to make weapons in Manor Lords.
Making Weapons In Manor Lords
To make weapons in Manor Lords, you need to build the Blacksmith’s Workshop extension on a Level 2 Burgage plot that is big enough to support extensions. Then just make sure the materials needed (Iron Slab, Planks) to craft your selected weapon are available in a Storehouse.
Most weapons can be crafted at the Blacksmith’s Workshop with the exception of Bows, for that, you will need to build the Bowyer’s Workshop extension instead.
All melee weapons will require Iron slabs to make if not Planks, so before you build the blacksmith extension, make sure you have a Mining Pit on an Iron deposit and a Bloomery that can refine the ore into Iron Slabs. For Planks, make sure you have a Sawpit.
If you don’t want the entire production process to be within your town, you can also import Iron Slabs, Planks, and even the weapons themselves from the Trading Post as long as you have enough Regional Wealth.
But in my experience, importing weapons is too expensive and I couldn’t sustain my Regional Wealth for anything else when I tried to do that, so it’s better to craft them via Blacksmith in your village, especially for early game. You can use the trade method if you need a lot of weapons in an emergency.
Eventually, you will run out of Iron in the deposit near your town, to counter this you should find a Rich Deposit of Iron and make sure you have the Deep Mining perk from the Settlement Development tree. This will make it so you can mine a Rich Deposit infinitely by upgrading the Mining Pit.
