According to new postings that surfaced on Steam database, a new content update for Hi-Fi Rush is on the way. The library for the game has expanded on SteamDB, with ten new achievements added to the catalog (labelled TBA1 to TBA10).
This is strong evidence that Tango Gameworks is working on a DLC for the title, which might be announced at the 2023 Xbox Showcase on June 11. Hi-Fi Rush was a surprise release last year, with neither the developer nor Microsoft announcing anything about the title beforehand. This PC and Xbox exclusive game was welcomed with a fanfare and has since amassed a stellar rating of 10/10 on Steam.
Hi-Fi Rush might be getting an update, or a DLC
No other updates have been seen regarding the addition of these achievements, so it’s presently unclear whether Tango Gameworks is planning for a full-fledged DLC or just an update to mark the upcoming Xbox showcase. We won’t be surprised if the developer and the publisher keep mum about the upcoming expansion and announce it live, as they did last year in Xbox’s developer direct event. The timing sure makes sense.
Tango Gameworks has already released various small DLCs over the last year to supplement their incredible rhythm-based action title. Hi-Fi Rush’s original ending does not leave too much to be expanded upon, however, there are certain things the developer could play with, considering the game’s secret ending. The other DLCs for the game have been costume and character packs, so fans would definitely be looking forward to a story expansion for the game.
