My Hero Academia chapter 387 spoilers see an unexpected arrival of a Todoroki family member in the final panels
According to the spoilers made available on Twitter, My Hero Academia chapter 387 starts with a focus on Geten and Mr Compress conversing inside the prison cell. Here, the latter mentions the Himura bloodline – the family from which Rei Todoroki, the matriarch of the Todoroki family, belongs to. Geten specifies how the Himura blood is “thick,” comprising of diverse lineages that make the clan strong and prideful users of ice-related Quirk. However, the problem with the Himura blood is that it lost relevance as the age of Quirks advanced. With more and more families of Quirk wanting to mix their blood with the Himuras, the clan soon lost its prestige.
The Himuras are a well-established family known for having very strong ice quirk, and Geten and Mr. Compress talked about it in this chapter, or something like that. And the Himuras didn't want their blood to get mixed with other families as a result, they pic.twitter.com/vlzLYu5WRZ

Geten then continues explaining how to keep the blood among themselves “pure,” the Himuras started to marry off their distant cousins to other families. However, this plan backfired as in the process of maintaining the family prestige, they almost faced extinction. What followed next was the marriage of family members from the main clan to other important families, and that’s how Rei and Enji Todoroki, aka Endeavor, were married and became parents to four children. However, Geten also reveals in My Hero Academia chapter 387 that he, too, is part of the Himura clan, having been raised by Redestro when the other branches started disappearing.
Next in My Hero Academia chapter 387, the topic of Quirk emerges when Geten mentions how abilities have come to become complicated over time. As such, sometimes, it so happens that people with Quirks are unaware of their genetics and don’t understand the full strength or power, which ultimately leads to the wastage of abilities if not understood at the correct time. As Mr. Compress asks Geten to tell his story, My Hero Academia chapter 387 transitions to the fight happening between Endeavor and Dabi.

Approximately 800 metres away from the Gunga region, the father comes to understand that Dabi’s new Quirk basically makes him a ticking time bomb, meaning if he is to cause a blast, the Heroes, Toga’s Twice clones, and the civilians will be caught in it. However, Endeavor is tired and gravely injured from having fought All For One earlier. He also has an arm missing, rendering him incapable of using his powers in full force.
In an emotional scene that takes readers on a trip down the memory lane, Dabi, or as he was formerly known as Toya Todoroki, asks his father to look at him. Interestingly, Endeavor imagines Dabi as a young Toya who says, “look what I can do now,” referring to a time when his young son was desperate to have his father’s attention on him, but the latter was more focused on honing the abilities of his youngest child who will inherit both his parents’ Quirks. However, Endeavor’s little imagining gets interrupted when he is attacked by Dabi’s fire punch as huge pillars emerges from the earth, prompting Endeavor to request his son to put out the flames.

But Dabi refuses to listen as he keeps on uttering childish phrases demanding attention. This moment in My Hero Academia chapter 387 makes Endeavor wonder if his son is even alive, considering the high temperature of the flames that his body is engulfed in. Following this, Endeavor extends his hand to Dabi’s chest as he thinks about the two types of near-death phenomena. The first of this constitutes awakening an already existing ability that was previously seen with Bakugo during the Paranormal Liberation War, while the second one involves the unlocking or developing a new type of Quirk.
In a surprising turn of events, readers see Dabi’s chest is being covered with ice – a proof that he inherited his mother’s Quirk, Frost. The case with Dabi’s ice-related Quirk seems doesn’t seem to be something that he got as a result of near-death experience. As mentioned in the manga, Toya’s body was more accustomed to enduring freezing temperatures, making him suitable to use his mother’s abilities rather than his father’s. Although the exact nature of his Half-Cold Half-Hot Quirk is unexplored as of yet, it remains to be seen if the abilities are similar to that of his brother Shoto.

At this point in My Hero Academia chapter 387, Endeavor realizes that everything up until now that has happened to Toya is his fault, who will continue his cycle of hurt and keep repeating the same mistakes. Endeavor thus uses this realization to devise a plan that he won’t let his son die alone. In an attempt to atone for his sins, Endeavor hugs his son tightly and flies to a faraway location so as to save the civilians and Heroes. However, Dabi’s high heat causes him to lose consciousness. The last few panels of My Hero Academia chapter 387 are particularly interesting, as readers see Rei Todoroki appearing unexpectedly to quell her son’s ability with her own Quirk.
