Grass is greener in the Crimson Desert, while there are plenty of resources that you can pick right from the surface with your hands, but some of them are well hidden, and they can only be interacted with the right tool. And you don’t want to miss out on the resources, as they always play a crucial role later. One such item is Skyroot, as it is also hidden from the surface view. Here are all the things you need to get Skyroot in Crimson Desert.
How to Find Skyroot in Crimson Desert
Skyroot is part of the Skyroot Research Halted faction quest under the Scholastone Institute. He will mark the Skyroot location on the map so we can begin hunting for this rare medicinal herb.
The item we are looking for is buried in dirt, and now we can’t use our hands to dig out the Skyroot from the ground. What we need is a shovel. If you don’t have one, you can buy it from the Provisioner’s Shop in Hernand Town.
Now all you have to do is follow the “?” marker on the map to get to the Skyroot area of interest. Here, open up your radial menu and select Shovel, and start digging in the area to unearth the Skyroot. The spot will have around 10 Skyroots, so use your shovel to get all of them before departing the area.
Note: It will take around seven in-game days for the Skyroot to respawn.

Once you obtain Skyroot, you will acquire the Skyroot Knowledge, and the faction quest will get updated.
How to begin the Skyroot Research Halted Quest
Get to Ivynook in Hernand, to be more specific, you will find this village between A and N in Hernand. Here you will come across a Scholastone Research Assistant going on about Skyroot.
He will talk about the Skyroot being a more potent and rare medicinal herb, and it’s up to us to find it. Luckily, he will mark the spot on the map to help you look for the Skyroot and not go on a wild goose chase. The Skyroot digging spot will be around south of Hernand.

Head to the spot, dig out the Skyroot, and then talk to the Scholastone Research Assistant at Ivynook village to complete the faction quest.
What is Skyroot Used for in Crimson Desert
Here are all the ways you can use Skyroot in the game.
- It can be used for Abyss Gear Crafting.
- It will help you with the Vigor 1 recipe, helping with your stamina regeneration.
- You can directly consume the Skyroot for limitless Stamina for a brief period of time.
- It can also be used as an ingredient for meals (The Tart Special Meal dish).
- Tart Special Meal – 2x Skyroot, 2x Raspberry, 3x Meat and Fish Skewers, 2x Boiled Meat, and 3x Lentils. It will help you raise your spirit to 75%, 10% increase in Stamina, Lv 6 ice resistance for 60 seconds, and no spirit cost for 6 seconds.
- Tart Special Meal – 2x Skyroot, 2x Raspberry, 3x Meat and Fish Skewers, 2x Boiled Meat, and 3x Lentils. It will help you raise your spirit to 75%, 10% increase in Stamina, Lv 6 ice resistance for 60 seconds, and no spirit cost for 6 seconds.
