Can I Play Helldivers 2 In Splitscreen Mode?
No, Helldivers 2 does not currently support split-screen mode. The first Helldivers game did feature a couch co-op mode, meaning a split-screen option was supported. However, in this sequel, you can’t play with your friend using the same console.
This doesn’t mean that it will never have a split-screen mode. The developers might release a couch co-op option sometime after the launch. However, official announcement regarding this is yet to be made.
Just to be clear, Helldivers 2 does support an online multiplayer mode. It even supports cross-play. This means you can play with your friends, but everyone will have to use a separate console/platform. It just doesn’t support an offline or local multiplayer mode.
Couch co-op offered an incredibly fun experience in Helldivers 1. Many fans have started demanding a split-screen mode for Helldivers 2 ever since the first trailers dropped and it became clear that couch co-op has been eliminated in this version. So, fingers crossed!
