[Updated – 16th Jul]: We have updated this article to reflect new additions in the 1.0 release, as well as adding info for all mounts.
Getting anywhere in an open world will take time, but luckily Palworld features amazing creatures to help you get from point A to point B via ground, water, and air. Many prefer to take their ride in the air to avoid navigating different patches of land or water flow. When it comes to travelling in the air, the speed of the mount will be a cherry on top. Here we will take a look at the fastest flying mounts in Palworld 1.0.
Palworld Flying Mounts Tier List

I’ll be comparing the mounts based on their speed, and speed only – while a lot of the mounts come with benefits in terms of combat and other skills, this tier list is for the fastest flying mounts. I have, however, included all these details, including locations for each of the pals, further down in this article.
| Tier | Flying Mounts |
| SS–Tier | * Jetragon * Panthalus * Xenolord |
| S-Tier | * Eidrolon * Eidrolon Ignis * Shaolong |
| A–Tier | * Frostallion * Frostallion Noct * Shadowbeak * Selyne |
| B–Tier | * Faleris * Faleris Aqua * Roujay * Quivern * Quivern Botan * Ragnahawk * Beakon * Beakon Cryst |
| C-Tier | * Dynamoff * Elphidran * Elphidran Aqua * Helzephyr * Helzephyr Lux * Astegon * Suzaku * Suzaku Aqua |
| D-Tier | * Nite Wing * Vanwyrm * Vanwyrm Cryst |
SS Tier –
- Jetragon – For the pure speed, perfect mount to cover short distances.
- Xenolord – This mount has a good balance between stamina and speed, making it a better choice for long travel.
- Panthalus: It’s a giant whale, so the size here is huge, but the mount has impeccable speed to back it up.
Jetragon has the best flying speed compared to all the mounts in the game. Coming second is Panthalus; it’s a giant whale with low stamina, but its balanced Sprint and Run speed makes it the second fastest flying mount in Palworld. Both of these pals’ stats are incomparable, deserving their place under the SS-Tier list. Jetragon is perfect for short distances, while with Panthalus, Sprint will not increase speed, so you will have more control over stamina. And the best part about Panthalus is that you will not need to craft any pal gear to mount. Lastly, we can’t forget about Xenolord, a blast from the past. The speed of this mount still holds in the ranking.
S Tier:
- Shaolong: If you have dragons in your party, this mount offers a very strong attack choice. It has low stamina compared to other flying mounts.
- Eidrolon: If you have dragon or dark pals in your party, it gains movement speed. Overall, it carries a good balance between stamina and speed.
- Eidrolon Ignis: It’s just a common Eidrolon with a different skin and Partner Skill; when it comes to speed, you are going to get the same thing but in a different color.
Now we move to the S-Tier; here we also have plenty of excellent options. We have Eidrolon and Eidrolong Ignis, both introduced in the new Palworld 1.0 update. Appearance and Partner Skill difference aside, they both share great Sprint and Run stats. Then we have Shaolong, with its impeccable Run and Sprint speed, making it a worthy contender for the S-Tier ranking.
A Tier:
- Frostallion: This mount comes with high stamina, making it a perfect choice for long travels. Frostallion is also a great combat pal to have around, so it will serve both the flying and combat side of the gameplay.
- Frostallion Noct: It’s very much the same as Frostallion, but with a different skin.
- Shadowbeak: It’s a good flying mount carrying huge stamina for long flights and also a great combat pal.
- Selyne: Pretty much the same as Shadowbeak, Selyne also has good stamina with a strong combat side.
The A-Tier features great rides such as Frostallion and its Noct variation. Both share the same speed and stamina stats, so you will not see any major difference between them besides visual appearance. Shadowbeak comes second to Frostallion pals, while it doesn’t share the same speed number as Frostallion, but you can obtain it without having to defeat a Legendary Alpha Boss. Lastly, we have Selyne; the stats on this mount are close to Shadowbeak, with a minor difference in the Stamina stat.
B-Tier
All pals contained in the B-tier are not bad, but they are not good either. They sit between the fastest and slowest; they are all decent rides that get the job done. B-Tier is perfect for the transition between early to mid game. They are not all bad; they have decent perks that help them stand out better in the combat and traversal field.
C-Tier and D-Tier
The pals in D-tier are the slowest pals in the game, and the pals in the B-tier are a tiny bit better. D-Tier is for the newcomers, perfect if you never had a flying mount. They are perfect for transporting, but in C-Tier, the pals here have good enough speed. The highlight of the C-tier pals are their partner skills; other than that, you should try to set your eye on A-Tier for a decent speed pal.
- Best Flying Mount Choice for Early Game: Nitewing or Elphidran or Vanwyrm; same as end-game flying pals, the choices are limited. Here, you have basically three or four mounts to juggle around.
- Best Flying Mount Choice for Mid Game: Shadowbeak or Selyne or Quivern makes a great choice for the mid-range portion. A perfect mount to transition from early game mount to something decent.
- Best Flying Mount Choice for End Game: If you are looking for nothing but the best, then Jetragon or Xenolord will be more than enough. Jetragon is obtainable close to the end-game, so I will recommend setting your eye on Xenolord.

Best Passives for Mounts
Here we will take a look at the best passives for mounts to get more out of them:
- Dimensional Leap – Raises movement speed by +50%/ also increases hunger depletion rate by +15%.
- Swift – 30% boost to movement speed
- Legend – 20% to attack, defense, and movement speed.
- Eternal Engine – 75% to max stamina for Rideable pals.
- Runner – 20% boost to movement speed.
- Infinite Stamina– 50% increase to max stamina.
- Nimble – 10% boost to movement speed.
- Fit as a Fiddle – 25% boost to max stamina.
Here I will recommend focusing on stamina and movement speed, since these are the stats we are using to judge the flying mounts. Movement speed will have an effect on the pals’ riding speed, and Stamina will determine the travel time for the pal without getting tired.
That’s it; now pick the flying mount that matches your appearance requirement and speed for traversal in Palworld.
