While venturing into the mines or the deep caves of Return to Moria, you will most likely encounter the giant Cave Troll blocking your path. Cave Trolls often spawn with their own weapons near the Western Halls Mines, the Lower Deeps, Dwarrowelf, and Barazinbar. Although these enemies can be quite tough, with the right tricks, you can take them down in no time.
How Do I Beat Cave Troll In Return to Moria?
The easiest way to defeat Cave Trolls is to make it chase you into direct sunlight. Cave Trolls turn into stone statues when exposed to sunlight. Then you can use your pickaxe to break the statue.
You can also get precious gems like Amethyst and sapphire, and even some resources like metal fragments and granite once you break the petrified troll.

However, if the cave is devoid of sunlight, you will have to resort to fighting the troll with just your weapons. Just make sure to dodge its powerful attacks and swing whenever you get a chance.
