How Do I Fix Helldivers 2 Friend Request Not Working?
The “Friend Request Not Working” error makes it very difficult for players to join their friend’s lobby in Helldivers 2. But, before you try to find a fix for this issue, make sure your friend’s Steam Name is typed out correctly and you are requesting the right game account.
To fix this particular error, here are a few solutions you can try:
- Restart Game – If friend requests are not being sent your way, try to restart Helldivers 2 and tell your friend to do the same to see if it makes any difference.
- Check Internet Connections – The problem could be your laggy internet connection, so make sure your game is running on high-speed internet to continue your crossplay adventures.
- Change Steam Name – Another fix for the friend request issue is to change your Steam Name to a new one. You have to come up with a name that contains 3-16 characters and does not have any special characters (*, #, etc.) in it, to receive friend requests in Helldivers 2.
Note: Fair warning for those who want to change their Steam Name. Even if you change the name back, the game will still refer to the previously changed name and might not accept friend requests on a different name.
- Join Same Open Lobby – If nothing seems to work, try to host an open lobby on any planet and make your friend join the same on the same difficulty to play the game together. You will have to kick out a few random joiners to make room for your friends, but this can act as an workaround for the friend request bug.
