Rise of the Ronin’s open world is huge and navigating it on foot is too time-consuming. You are better off having a horse to ride on, which is available pretty early in the game. You don’t have to pay a hefty price either to unlock this mode of transportation.
How To Buy Horse In Rise Of The Ronin
Players can buy a Horse from the Stable NPC in Rise of the Ronin using Silver Coins. The very first Stable is in Ishikawa, but you will need to clear out the bandits before accessing it. Doing so will unlock the Horse Flute, which you can use to summon your horses wherever you are present.
Note: Although one can find horses out on the map, riding them won’t register them as your horse.
After you buy the horse, equip the Horse Flute to your Items loadout using the Inventory tab and then use the corresponding Directional Buttons to summon your horse. A horse’s Speed and Stamina determine a its value.
Speed determines how fast horses run, and Stamina affects how many attacks they withstand. You can increase these stats using Tacks.

How To Get Horse By Defeating Enemies In Rise Of The Ronin
There is another way to get a Horse in Rise of the Ronin. Follow these steps:
- Defeat five thugs in Honmoku, the northernmost village on the map. Use sneak attacks and the bushes to your advantage to quickly take out the enemies.
- Once you defeat your adversaries, a cutscene will play informing you that the “Order has been restored.”
- Go toward the Veiled Edge Banner, recover your health, and head towards the path where you see the horse grazing.
- Interact with the straw there to unlock the Horse Flute. After that, you can use the Stable to buy more horses.
