Leather is one of the many resources that you need to make crucial materials for your settlement in Manor Lords. In the case of Leather, you need it to create certain Commodities, which can then be exported via a Trading Post or used in other ways throughout the settlement. While Leather isn’t as useful a resource as something like Linen or Ale, it is extremely valuable if you’re able to craft a lot of it.
Below, you can see exactly how to get your hands on Leather in Manor Lords.
Getting Leather in Manor Lords
Leather is created from Hides in Manor Lords, which can be acquired itself through the Hunting Camp station. The Hunting Camp can be assigned to two families and their job is to go out and hunt for animals to bring back Hides and Meat. You’ll also want to ensure you have a Storagehouse near the camp for the hunters to place the items they acquire.
If the hunters bring back Hides, then you can use those to create Leather after constructing the Tannery. Located in the “Industry” section of the construction menu, you can build the Tannery using four Timber. I recommend placing the Tannery near your Hunting Camp and whatever Storagehouse is holding the bulk of your Hides. This way, your citizens don’t have to travel far to deliver the Hides to the Tannery.
I also suggest assigning two families to the Tannery if you really want to speed up production, but one assigned family also suffices. Once you have the supply chain in place, your families should take care of the rest. The hunters from the Hunting Camp get the Hides, they place them in a Storagehouse, and then the families at the Tannery take those Hides and turn them into Leather.
The Leather they produce is either stored in the Tannery or it’s placed in a nearby Storagehouse. You can then use the Leather to create specific Commodities or use the Trading Post to export your new Leather to acquire more Regional Wealth in Manor Lords.
