After what feels like eons, the Polaris Lance is finally making a comeback in the Destiny 2 meta. Its synergy with seasonal artifact mods, exotic armors, and, most importantly, Solar subclasses right now makes it a solid scout rifle you want to pick up. Combined with its powerful Catalyst, this weapon is enough to carry you through the toughest activities in the game.
In this guide, we’ll show how to get the Polaris Lance and Catalyst in Destiny 2. Let’s get started.
How to Get the Polaris Lance in Destiny 2
You can buy the Polaris Lance in Destiny 2 from the Exotic Archive in The Tower. You’ll need one Exotic Cipher, one Ascendant Shard, and 125,000 Glimmer to buy it.
You’ll be able to get one Exotic Cipher per week by completing Xur’s quest on the weekends. We recommend going with The Coil activity to get the Ascendant Shard, which rewards you with 1-3 shards per run. Alternatively, if you’ve got Enhancement Prisms and Planetary Materials, you can trade them with ADA-1 or Banshee-44 to get your Ascendant Shard.

How to Get the Polaris Lance Catalyst in Destiny 2
The Polaris Lance Catalyst can drop from Playlist Activities in Destiny 2. This includes Vanguard Op, Crucible and Gambit matches. But like other catalysts, simply getting it to drop is only half the battle. You still have to unlock it.
To unlock the Polaris Lance Catalyst, you need to get 500 kills with it. By completing the task, you’ll add the Dragonfly perk to the Polaris Lance, which adds an AOE Solar Explosion anytime you get a precision kill with the weapon.
