While going through farm layouts and drawing inspiration from other Coral Island players, I’m sure you have come across giant crops adorning their farmland. You might think it’s some sort of a mod or glitch making them that way, but the truth is that Coral Island does in fact allow you to grow giant crops.
How To Get Giant Crops In Coral Island
Regular crops have a 5% chance of turning into giant crops if left unharvested for some time. This can only occur to crops that are planted in a 3×3 pattern and watered regularly till they are in the harvestable state.
Giant crops will stay as they are no matter the season and will not decay under any circumstances. You can only harvest these crops using an axe. One giant crop will usually yield anywhere from 17 to 21 regular crops in total.
The only downside is that once you use an axe to harvest a giant crop, it also destroys the seed that’s supposed to be planted after harvesting.

There are only a handful of crops that can turn into giant crops when left unharvested. They include:
- Bell Pepper
- Red Cabbage
- Cotton
- Starfruit
- Potato
- Strawberry
- Pumpkin
- Watermelon
If you ever decide to harvest the giant versions of these crops, you will need to get seeds and replant them so that they can once again grow from the same location.
You also have to keep in mind that you cannot place a small sprinkler on the 3×3 space to water the crops. You have to water it manually and let it grow till you see results.
