As you make your prospering settlement in Manor Lords, you will need to provide a Marketplace and stalls for your citizens where they can get all their basic needs. These stalls include food and firewood supplies but the citizens will also need warm clothes, especially when winter rolls in.
Merely providing them with shoes won’t cut it, as they require much more than that. So, let’s find out how you can make Dye in Manor Lords to make various clothing items and give your citizens some much-needed choices.
Making Dye for Clothes in Manor Lords
Dye in Manor Lords can be produced at the Dyer’s Workshop which takes the Berries collected from the Foragers Hut and uses it to make Dye. Make sure you also have a Granary with a family assigned, they will take the berries and deliver them to the Dyer’s Workshop.
Make sure you also have a Storehouse with families assigned that will store the Dye where it can be used when needed. Dye is used to make two types of clothing items; Clothes (there is an item named ‘Clothes’) and Cloaks.
Alternatively, you can also source Dye by importing it via the Trading Post, however in my experience, this will drain your Regional Wealth needlessly when it’s much easier to just produce Dye since it only requires Berries to make.
How to Use Dye in Manor Lords
To start making Clothes and Cloaks using Dye in Manor Lords, add the Tailor’s Shop backyard extension on a Level 2 Burgage Plot which costs 5 Planks and 5 Coins from Regional Wealth.
Tailors will take Linen, Yarn, and Dye to make items like Clothes, Gambesons, or Cloaks depending on the production focus you choose. The crafting materials required to make these items will be taken from the Storehouse and transported to the plot by the families living in the Tailor’s Shop.
Keep in mind that the family living in it will turn into Artisans who cannot be assigned to any other jobs and will now work as Tailors. Destroying or changing the backyard extension to a non-artisan extension is the only way to open them up again for regular work assignments.
