Among the many customization options available in Armored Core 6, a desirable element is the versatility of the leg units. Legs are the foundation of your mech and serve the crucial purpose of mobilizing. The effectiveness of your mech under various terrestrial and airborne situations completely depends on how your legs complement the build. We have already covered about where to find Shade Eye and its benefits which will help you customize better.
Although quite similar in terms of name and appearance as previous titles, legs in Armored Core 6 come with several new features that are bound to stand out. The two legs that appear to be most fascinating and useful in combat are the Tank and Tetrapod legs. Here’s a look at what makes these legs unique in Armored Core 6 and the means to unlock them.
Tetrapod Legs
These legs are the most versatile in the game and as the name suggests, feature four legs instead of the conventional two. There are many and varied uses for the Tetrapod legs which make it both desirable for a fun gameplay experience and quite useful in combat. The most notable feature of these legs is their ability to hover in the air infinitely which again can make your playthrough a memorable one along with some unmatched combat advantages.
As with most things in Armored Core 6, these legs are most effective when you can find a balance in their various features, purposes, and stats. Their load limit and recoil absorption open up the avenue for powerful mech builds that can offer fire superiority in any engagement. All this, of course, comes with a penalty for mobility on land. While airborne the Tetrapod legs are almost invincible with considerably less EN consumption as well.
Tank Legs
If you want the make the best out of your mech’s combat capabilities in Armored Core 6, Tank legs are the way to go. You can mount the ultimate arsenal available in Armored Core 6 with a pair of Tank legs. Mechs with Tank legs can both deal the most damage in the game as well as absorb the most. These legs are most effective while grounded with some impressive maneuvers to help get as close or far away from enemies as you desire and unleash your firepower.
All of this, though, comes with a penalty to aerial capabilities. While tanks can technically fly, they don’t offer the kind of maneuverability as the Tetrapod legs do, or the speed for that matter. This is a worthy tradeoff though for the load limit which is the highest of any legs in the game. On land, tanks are also capable of drifting creating an avenue to pull off some impressive moves and land some dangerous strikes.
