Remnant 2 offers players a chance to unlock a wide range of archetypes, each bringing unique abilities and skills to the table. One such archetype is the Warden, a tactical support class. Introduced in The Dark Horizon DLC, the Warden Archetype provides abilities to boost allies. To help you out, we have created this guide covering the steps to unlock the Warden Archetype in Remnant 2.
How To Unlock The Warden Archetype In Remnant 2
In order to unlock the Warden Archetype, find the Weathered Mechanism and give it to Wallace.
Step 1: Reach the Withered Necropolis
The journey to unlock the Warden Archetype starts in The Dark Horizon DLC, specifically within the Agronomy Sector. Players must use Gliders to move through various gaps and air currents. There are multiple fast travel points scattered throughout, so make your way across the top of the Agronomy Sector.
How to Reach
- You’ll encounter the Withered Necropolis as part of the main story. Start at the Quiescent Overlook checkpoint. It is located near the beginning of the Agronomy Sector.
- Move forward and to the left from the checkpoint until you spot the first Glider. Use this Glider to cross the gap in front of you.
- After landing, continue forward to find a second Glider waiting for you. Grab it and use it to glide through a corridor.
- When you reach the end of the corridor, there will be an air current. Let the Glider catch the air current to gain a boost. It will propel you forward. Move ahead and turn right at the end.
- Glide into the next air current that appears in front of you to land at a checkpoint. Then, head toward the far right corner of the landmass. You will find another Glider there. Use it to glide across the gap.
- After landing, move forward and to the right. Use the Glider to glide forward. Then, move slightly left into another air current.
- Hit the air current and continue until you reach a ledge on your left. Glide to this ledge and continue walking forward.
- Turn left at the crashed ship you’ll encounter along the way. The entrance to the Withered Necropolis is just beyond this point.
Step 2: Locate the Weathered Mechanism
After you reach the Withered Necropolis, locate the Weathered Mechanism. It is a key material required to unlock the Warden Archetype in Remnant 2.
How to Reach
- After entering the Withered Necropolis, proceed past the first checkpoint. Keep an eye out for a nearby Remnant NPC. Just past them, you’ll spot a Glider.
- Grab the Glider and glide down the corridor in front of you. Be sure to turn slightly right as you descend.
- At the end of the corridor, you’ll encounter an air current. Use the air current to move up. Then turn right when you reach the next section.
- As you glide forward, you’ll encounter another air current, this time on your right. Use this air current to reach a ledge on your right. From here, move forward and slightly to the left until you reach a bridge.
- While crossing the bridge, you will face a wave of enemies that will attempt to block your path. After defeating the enemies, continue along the path.
- You’ll finally reach a large mechanical device. Suspended inside this device is the Weathered Mechanism.
Step 3: Bring Weathered Mechanism to Wallace
After you get the Weathered Mechanism, your next destination is Ward 13. Locate Wallace, the NPC responsible for crafting archetypes. He can be found in a small shack near the docks in Ward 13.
Interact with Wallace and open the Craft tab in the dialogue menu. Within this tab, you’ll have the option to exchange the Weathered Mechanism for a Command Module. Once the exchange is made, the Warden Archetype will be available for use.
