The Granblue Fantasy franchise has been quite well known for their mobile gacha RPGs. Rolling for the coolest and strongest characters and depending solely on the luck of the draw has become a habit among veterans. But, it seems like Granblue Fantasy Relink might have finally left the gacha life behind.
Does Granblue Fantasy Relink Have Gacha?
Granblue Fantasy Relink is not a gacha game. It is a standalone ARPG that lets you team up with three other AI teammates (characters from the game) and unlock new characters with story progression.
Think of it as a Japanese Baldur’s Gate where you can add or replace teammates from your party to recruit the strongest ones as you dive deeper into the storyline. You are also given the option of joining three of your friends in an online co-op adventure after you finish Granblue Fantasy Relink’s primary campaign.
Initially, you can choose between Eugen, Rosetta, Katalina, Rackham, Rolan, and Io and select any four to be a part of your early-game team. Later, you can replace them with other characters or level up each one to fight stronger opponents.
Granblue Fantasy Relink releases on February 1, 2024, for PC, PS5, and PS4 users worldwide.
