The full release of Last Epoch brings a new Trade System. You can engage in the trading of items by joining the Merchant’s Guild, but the game doesn’t do a great job of explaining this system.

Trade System In Last Epoch
As you will unlock the factions feature, you will get two choices to pick from: Circle of Fortune and Merchant’s Guild. Your choice won’t be final, and you can walk out of your current faction any time you want. However, the items you obtain from a given faction can only be deployed as long as you are part of that specific faction.
If you wish to send an item to a specific friend or party member, it can be done through a feature called Resonance System.
Merchant’s Guild
Merchant’s Guild is your standard bazaar where you can buy and sell items amongst different players. As you engage in more game quests & slash down enemies, you will earn Favor. This Favor can be used to initiate trade within your current level. As you engage in more trading, your reputation will improve and you will unlock more trade options in the Bazaar.
Based on your reputation, you will unlock the following rings in Merchant’s Guild:
- Trade Basic Items
- Trade Set Items
- Trade Specific Unique Items
- Trade Idols
- Trade Exalted Weapons
- Trade Unique Weapons
- Trade All Exalted Items
- Trade All Unique Items
- Trade Legendary Weapons
- Trade All Legendary Items
Circle of Fortune
Much like the Merchant’s Guild, Circle of Fortune also operates on Reputation. However, instead of trade you will earn rewards through prophecies.
These are the ten rings available in the faction:
- Enemy Item Drop Chance
- Upgraded Rune of Ascendance
- Idol Drop Chance
- Exalted Affix Chance
- Monolith Echo Reward Upgrade
- Legendary Potential Chance
- Affix Chance
- Rare To Exalted Chance
- Full Set Drop Chance
- Prophecy Reward Upgrade
Resonance
This is a specialized system that lets you share items specifically with your friends and party members. Exalted and Legendary items can be exchanged by using Obsidian Resonance, while normal gifts can be sent through Golden Resonance. Is There A Penalty for Switching Faction in Last Epoch?
If you are concerned about facing a penalty upon switching factions, there is no need to worry. You will not lose any rewards or progress by leaving your faction. However, you will not be able to use your previous faction items in your gameplay after making the switch. You can always rejoin a faction and resume your reputation and rewards where you left off.
