Oblivion Remastered includes all of the original game’s side quests, including Sanguine’s Quest. It rewards you with the Sanguine Rose, a powerful staff that summons a random Daedra to fight by your side – making it a valuable asset in any battle. If that is something you would very much want to have, then you have come to the right place. Let’s get started!
Sanguine’s Shrine Location In Oblivion Remastered

The Sanguine Shrine is located north of Skingrad. Before interacting with the Sanguine Shrine, you’ll need an offering to start the questline. You can get the offering by going to the Imperial City Market and getting yourself into The Gilded Carafe. Once there, you’ll need to buy a specific type of brandy, “Cyrodilic Brandy” for 79 Gold. You will also need to be “dressed for the party”, as the guard puts it so eloquently, so stop by The Divine Elegance in the City Market and get yourself an outfit.
The Sanguine Quest In Oblivion Remastered

Once at the Sanguine Shrine, interact with the statue and offer your brandy to the shrine. Sanguine will then give you the ‘Stark Reality’ spell to cast on the Countess and her guests at Castle Leyawiin. Once you reach the castle, go towards your right and open the door to get into Castle Leyawiin County Hall. Head through the hallway, and when you reach a room with 2 thrones, turn right, and you’ll spot a guard standing beside a door. The party begins at 6 PM, so wait until then and speak with the guard. If you’re dressed well enough, he’ll let you in without any issues; if not, a bribe should do the trick. You can also use Persuasion, and get his Disposition to cross 70 to get into the party.

Once you enter the room, use the spell you got from the Sanguine Shrine called “Stark Reality” on the whole group. You’ll get caught by the guards, but don’t worry, it’s meant to happen. Select the prompt “Go to jail”. You will be stripped of all your items and placed in a cell. To progress this questline, simply sleep in the bed — this will count as serving your time and effectively paying your “fine”. After getting out of jail, go back to Sanguine’s Shrine and interact with the statue. You can find all the items you lost when being arrested behind a bench.
Do note, you need to cast the spell such that everyone gets impacted. If that does not happen, the quest fails. The best way we found was to stand bang in the middle of the dining table, face the Countess, and then cast the spell.
Upon finishing this quest, Sanguine grants you a staff called Sanguine Rose, which can be used to summon a random Daedra to fight for you. After 10 uses, it’ll need to be charged with soul gems, and the summoning can vary from Scamps to Dremora!
