Assassin’s Creed Shadows is full of various major story decisions for the player to make throughout their journey as Naoe and Yasuke in Japan. Perhaps the most important story decision, though, comes from the player going after The Mourner. Major spoilers ahead, but here is whether or not you should kill Lady Oichi or spare her in Assassin’s Creed Shadows.
Should You Kill Lady Oichi or Spare Her in Assassin’s Creed Shadows?
In the end, I do not think you should kill or attack Lady Oichi in Assassin’s Creed Shadows. You should choose, instead, to spare Lady Oichi as Yasuke. This is for a clear reason, which is how it affects the dialogue that comes next and how the characters react to one another. It is a much more peaceful and amicable outcome, especially for those players looking for a little romance as Yasuke.
Does This Choice Make a Difference as Yasuke or Naoe?
You could argue that the choice doesn’t make much of a different in the end. This is because the outcome is largely the same. Unlike other assassination targets from the main villainous group of The Shinbakufu, The Mourner, or Lady Oichi, is one of the only options you are able to spare and not kill.
In fact, even if you choose to attack her for revenge as Naoe, she will not die. It is honestly a waste of time to pick this option and it will frustrate Yasuke in the end, too. Instead, it is better to just spare her as Yasuke. Yes, Naoe will not be the happiest but she will move on. This will also be a bit better story-wise if you want Yasuke to romance Lady Oichi.
Regardless, she will survive and become a key ally for the two heroes. You will also be able to romance Lady Oichi from this point forward if you do her side quests.
