As you go around the 1900s Poland taming Salutor beings in The Thaumaturge, you are going to run into a few Timed Quests with a clock icon beside them in your quest journal. The game doesn’t do anything to explain how long they last and when they expire, so let’s find that out.
How Long Until Timed Quests Expire In The Thaumaturge?
Timed Quests in The Thaumaturge are linked to certain events in the main story narrative. If you progress too far into the narrative, then these Timed Quests can become unavailable. There is no actual timer on these Timed Quests, despite its name.
They are titled that way to signify that they can become unavailable if you try to attempt them at a later stage in the game. So, make sure you complete these Timed Quests before continuing the main story quests.

Does Changing Time Of Day Affect Timed Quests In The Thaumaturge?
No, changing the time of day to morning, noon, afternoon, or night will not affect Timed Quests in any way. They are only tied to events in the story rather than the time of the day.
However, you can get stuck in some Timed Quests like the Morana quest in Act 1. During this quest, there comes a point where you need Word 4 and above to get the Observations you need to progress. But despite having the points to upgrade, the game won’t let you until you get your first Word Salutor: Veles.
So if you are like me and did the timed sidequest first before the main quest, then don’t worry—you can continue the main quest until you tame Veles and then get back to continue the Morana timed quest.
