The Solsctiuce event in Destiny 2 has been a fan favorite event each year with many players looking forward to it. Each year Destiny 2 has upped their game when it comes to this event and the 2024 Soltice event is shaping up to be one of the best with the new Echoes Episode format complimenting it. Here is what you need to know about when the Solstice event will start in Destiny 2.
When Does Solstice Start in Destiny 2?
There is no official confirmation yet for the start date of the 2024 Solstice event in Destiny 2. However, according to previous Solstice events start dates, it can start anywhere between July 18 to August 11. Usually, it has always been the end of July or early August but knowing Bungie, they can even shake it up by delivering the Solstice event earlier than expected or even delay it to mid-August.
During the Episode: Echoes livestream for Act 2, Bungie devs revealed that the Solstice event is happening during Act 2 itself. Since Act 2 runs up until Tuesday, August 27, it is safe to say that the Solstice event will take place at least a week before the end date if it does not happen during late July or early August.

What is Solstice in Destiny 2?
The reason why the Solstice event in Destiny 2 is so hyped and anticipated is because it introduces a new dedicated activity in the EAZ called the Bonfire Bash. The gameplay involves players conquering jumping puzzles as they defeat enemies and bosses to reach some specific locations around the map.
The goal is to stoke the bonfire, the more it gets stoked the better the loot rewards will be. This is done by throwing the Igniters found after defeating the bosses which are part of this Bonfire Bash activity. This allows players to earn Silver Leaves which can be exchanged for Silver Ash and used to reroll stats for the Candescent Armor.
Players will also be able to earn Kindlings by completing challenges that are exclusive to the Solstice event. These can be used to purchase Solstice Glow for your Candescent Armor. While all this has been the case for previous Solstice events, Bungie might even add some new mechanics and rewards to pursue this year in Destiny 2.
