Niantic has silently doubled the PokeStop spin limit at its Pokemon GO Fest 2023 locations, as per an exclusive tip sent to me by an insider in London. Reportedly, Pokemon GO players attending the GO Fest 2023 in Osaka, London, and New York will be granted this exclusive perk at the event’s physical PokeStops.
My source, who works at Niantic and has requested anonymity, revealed that this information has been circulated internally by the Product team. Allegedly, there are strict instructions NOT to share this information with players. The exact reason for this decision remains unclear as of yet.
PokeStop spin limit bumped to 2400 for physical GO Fest attendees only
As things currently stand, the daily limit for maximum number of PokeStops spins is 1200. During the Pokemon GO Fest 2023, which is no doubt crawling with PokeStops containing rare Pokemon and exciting rewards on every step, this limit has been doubled. Trainers who have GO Fest passes and are attending the locations in person are now allowed to hit an astonishing 2400 spins a day.
As the news is coming straight from the London team, it remains to be seen if this new spin limit will be available to New York GO Fest players as well. Similarly, there’s no guarantee of this perk being available to those who join the Global event in the last week of August. However, it would be safe to assume that such a bonus would be available only to players who have splurged on GO Fest passes.
The daily limit for catches at PokeStops is 4800 with a weekly limit of 14,000. While there’s no confirmation about this limit being increased too, it is safe to assume that more spins would allow for more catches.
Niantic has been leaving no stones unturned for this year’s GO Fest and is adding new PokeStops every day (marked by glimmering surrounding rings). The Pokemon GO Fest 2023 is also anticipated to host a large number of Gold-colored PokeStops that offer additional items when spun, offering a chance to win mysterious coins.

It is surprising that Niantic would remain silent about a major perk like this, and we can only speculate as to why it has decided not to inform the players about the increased spin limit. Meanwhile, the official blog has been publishing information about additional rewards, such as increased chance of trainers present at the festival gaining double XP as well as additional Stardust. Perhaps the creators wanted it to be an element of surprise?
The stage for the Pokemon GO Fest 2023 is set across the globe. The festival is taking place in three cities: London & Osaka from August 4 to 6, New York City from August 18 to 20, culminating in a final global event on August 26 & 27.
