Coral Island creators have revealed parts of what’s coming in update 1.1, the game’s first major post-launch content update.
Coral Island 1.1 update adheres to the 2024 roadmap shared around the time of the game’s launch, albeit with a few new additions. The game launched with several work-in-progress elements that included the game’s main quest. The upcoming update is slated to make amends in that regard.
What’s Coming With Coral Island Update 1.1
Coral Island update 1.1 will add the remaining parts of the Giants questline and the Savannah region. This means the main quest will not have any missing pieces forcing you to halt your playthrough, if you are playing for the story.
As another fair chunk of content, the Town Rank S questline and its various categories are getting significant additions. Town Rank S will be an end-game goal that you’d be working toward in your lengthy playthrough. While the Heritage and Museum sections will have Rank S quests added, Attractions will be an entirely new category that you’ll unlock after reaching Town Rank A.
Devs shared snippets of some of the Attraction projects that you’ll be chipping for. It includes a ramen shop, gym, hot air balloon, town mural, arcade center, and more. This ties in with the Tourist system which will bring visitors (named after Kickstarter backers) to Starlet Town.
However, for those of you bored of romancing the bachelors and bachelorettes already in the game, these tourists won’t be romanceable. On the flip side, update 1.1 will bring the promised hangout mechanic for the already dateable NPCs.
Stairway promised to talk more about the ocean and Merfolk-related content coming with the update in a future post scheduled in April.
When Will Coral Island Update 1.1 Release?
Considering the April dev blog will chalk out the details about the rest of the update, the earliest it can drop would be late April. However, May or even June would be a much safer bet.
Speaking of which, this may be too long of a gap since we had the game’s full launch in November last year. Stairway and publisher Humble Games would be in a much better spot if they finished the WIP main quest line before moving on to adding new content.
