The highly anticipated Final Fantasy 16 demo has been spotted on the PS store, specifically if the browser is opened on mobile devices. Multiple Reddit users have since corroborated the claim. However, the caveat is that it only appears for those who have already pre-ordered the digital version of the game.
Final Fantasy 16 is slated for launch on June 22, with a pre-launch celebration livestream scheduled to air on June 11. While the demo listing accessible from mobile devices might mean it’s ready, it’s safe to assume that Square Enix will reveal the Final Fantasy 16 demo at the pre-launch celebration event, if not before.
If the recent track record is anything to go by, Square Enix has been fairly consistent about releasing free demos of their games. While it has backfired in cases like Babylon’s Fall and Balan Wonderworld even if players decided against a full purchase after playing the demo, avid Final Fantasy fans will ultimately judge FF16 purely on merit.
However, for a game of Final Fantasy 16’s caliber, a demo will surely garner goodwill and even possibly persuade some fence-sitters to make the purchase.
Final Fantasy 16 is scheduled to launch on June 22 on PlayStation 5 worldwide.
