Studio Inkyfox premiered the first look at their upcoming game Kibu in the Wholesome Direct 2023.
The developer behind Omno have designed yet again a beautiful game in which the gamers take on the role of a fox, who’s a solitary monk, living in a magical forest. The studio has described the game as a tranquil adventure in the heart of the wilderness. The monk travels the magical land in order to make their home comfortable, and unravel the mysteries and folklore of the forest spirits. Players will be able to traverse the serene forest, mine materials for building temples, forage for food, go fishing, farm their gardens, and even sit back quietly, gazing at the night sky, and sipping on a hot cup of tea.
By collecting the bounties of nature, players will be able to advance in the game, and seek out new areas and challenges, all the while expanding their temple and its adjacent farms. Players will be able to traverse this mystical land to uncover its deepest secrets, seek out ancient spirits, and create an entirely unique and peaceful sanctuary for themselves. The game also features a fluid and magical combat system, allowing players to use the monk’s staff to weed out any threats to the creatures of the land and make their exploration easier.
Kibu also utilizes the ancient art of tea brewing to make different types of teas that will allow players to undertake various types of tasks, rejuvenate them, and offer their certain abilities to make their journey more fruitful. At its core, Kibu is a farming sim, with a focus on exploration and gathering natural resources found in the woods.
The Studio Inkyfox is yet to announce the official release date for Kibu. However, the game’s Steam page is up for players on PC to wishlist.
