Capcom recently released an Investor Relations report that has led fans to believe Monster Hunter 6 might be releasing in 2024. In the Q&A part of the report, a Capcom executive revealed that the company plans to release two new titles in the first half of the current financial year.
While they name one of these titles, Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney Trilogy, the other ‘major title’ remains unknown. According to the report, both these titles will be releasing in 2024. Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney Trilogy was announced earlier this year and recently received the release date of Jan 25, 2024.
Fans Hope For New Monster Hunter Game As The Series’ 20th Anniversary Draws Near
The news of this unannounced title has sparked a discussion on Reddit boards, with fans trying to speculate as to what this new title may be. Many believe it will be the much-anticipated Monster Hunter 6, rumored to be the next big Capcom title.
Truth be told, release of a new Monster Hunter title in 2024 would make a lot of sense, as the franchise celebrates its 20th anniversary next March.
The sixth installment of Monster Hunter is supposedly Capcom’s next big title before Resident Evil 9. As the release of RE9 is rumored to be scheduled for 2025 with a possibility of official announcement in 2024, Monster Hunter 6 releasing in 2024 is likely.
However, Capcom could announce and push the release of Monster Hunter 6 to late 2024. Many fans are speculating that considering the timing (or the lack thereof), Capcom might be gearing up to release a remake title. Top contenders for possible remake titles include Dino Crisis Remake, a possible Resident Evil Remake, or a Devil May Cry Remake.
No Announcement For A 2024 Title Surprises Fans
The Capcom report mentions the second, as of now unannounced title a couple of times. Some fans believe this to be a mere marketing strategy as tagging a game ‘major title’ rouses excitement and anticipation.
If Capcom does plan on releasing Monster Hunter 6 next year, the absence of a marketing campaign so far is surprising. Therefore, it’s important to take this speculation with a grain of salt.
