NetherRealm and WB Games has come up with a unique opportunity for select players to test the upcoming Mortal Kombat 1 early. In a recent tweet, NetherRealm announced that they will be conducting an online stress test to test their servers.
Time to test the might of our servers! Help us find issues now for a flawless release in September. Sign up below to be considered. Dates to be confirmed at a later time. #MK1https://t.co/91zYBxq5Jk pic.twitter.com/JTcHmXeeiO

The developer is yet to announce the dates for the above-mentioned online stress test, however, they have begun accepting registrations through the WB games website.
While this is not a full beta of the game, NetherRealm will be allowing select gamers from North and Latin America, as well as Europe to participate in this event. The online stress test will be aimed at judging the competency of their servers, and players who use Xbox Series X|S or PS5 will be able to download this playtest. On the official website, NetherRealm has stated that the purpose of this test will be to:
“deliberately stress our online infrastructure and identify potential issues ahead of the game’s launch.”
Cross platform play will not be supported in this online stress test for Mortal Kombat 1, and players will be able to lock horns with others who use the same console. The registrations for the test are open, however, that doesn’t guarantee that everyone will be able to participate in the online test.
Online stress tests are not new, with many developers testing their upcoming titles, especially fighting and majorly online games, to facilitate a seamless launch. This online test will be free and wouldn’t be considered a part of the beta test that is supposed to be a part of pre-order bonuses for players buying Premium and Kollector editions of Mortal Kombat 1.
