Pocket Pair’s new open-world survival game has created immense hype amongst the players. In just eight hours since it was released in early access, the cute Pokemon-esque game has sold more than one million copies.
The developer announced this astounding feat via X, thanking fans for their support. The game has also amassed positive reviews from fans across the board, with this Pokémon-with-guns game currently enjoying a 9/10 rating on Steam.
Merely a couple of hours after its Steam release, Palworld garnered an impressive 200,000 concurrent players. The highest concurrent player count (at the time of writing this article) hit an astonishing 370,000 mark. This number is only set to increase as the weekend draws near, making this a very successful early-access game launch.
Palworld is currently the highest-rated premium game with the most concurrent players on Steam. It is surpassed only by two free-to-play games – Counter Strike 2 and DOTA 2, according to the Steam database. Palworld is also currently helming the top position on Steamdb’s most trending games list.
However, such a massive influx of concurrent players seems to have overwhelmed Pocket Pair’s servers, with the developers announcing that they are working towards resolving various server-related issues ASAP.
