Spider-Man 2 developer, Insomniac Games, has recently released a new patch for the game that fixes one of the title’s major mistakes. Ever since the game’s release, fans across the internet have been pointing out this glaring oversight.
Despite one of the game’s protagonists, Miles Morales, being Puerto Rican, the Cuban National flag was seen draped as decor in his house. In the recently released update patch, Insomniac has fixed the issue and now the flag has been replaced by the Puerto Rican flag.
Today's patch corrects an error where the Cuban flag was incorrectly displayed instead of the Puerto Rican flag. We understand that accurate representation matters, and greatly regret this error. We sincerely apologize and will do better in the future.

Spider-Man 2 Featured The Wrong Flag Colors In Miles’ House
Flags of both Puerto Rico and Cuba feature a similar design. They both boast a triangle on the left side, five stripes on the right, and a star in the middle. The only difference is the color; more specifically, the different order of the same color. While the Cuban flag has a red triangle and blue stripes, the Puerto Rican flag is the exact opposite, with a blue triangle and red stripes.
This inaccuracy in Spider-Man 2 can easily be chalked up to simple human error. Insomniac has officially apologized on Twitter, stating that they understand their fans’ concerns and value the accurate representation. They had previously admitted their mistake on Oct 22, claiming that they were going to work on fixing the error.
Today, after the new patch was released, the players could see the Puerto Rican flag in Miles’ house, as well as on the fire escape outside Miles’ room.
Apart from fixing the flag in Miles’ house, the newest patch also fixes some other minor bugs and issues. Other issues addressed by the new Spider-Man 2 patch:
- Improved stability
- Fixed the issue wherein the logo on the Amazing Spider-Man 2 suit appeared too bright.
- Fixed the issue where models would not load properly after long play sessions. This fix is supposed to sort out the bug due to which the protagonists were converted into white cubes and their bodies were missing from gameplay mode as well as from some of the cutscenes.
