Valve-Proton collab helps library expansion for Steam Deck
This is a milestone achievement for Steam Deck, a device that has been in the market for just over a year. The impressive expansion of its library can be attributed to the collaboration between Valve and Proton. Proton has played an essential role in expanding the compatibility of a significant number of games for Valve’s handheld. Proton, approaching its fifth anniversary, has ported a massive selection of Windows games for Steam Deck as well as Linux.
Furthermore, several game developers have extended the support for their games to native Linux builds in order to enhance the gaming experience on Steam Deck, which operates on Linux. This has also contributed to the expansion of the game library playable on the handheld device.
