Why was Kaceytron banned by Twitch?

Kacey ‘Kaceytron’ Cavines was banned from the popular video game streaming platform Twitch due to certain copyright issues. This is the third ‘permanent’ ban Twitch has imposed on the streamer. The first ban occurred in 2020 when the streamer was accused of tweeting insensitive comments during the Coronavirus pandemic.

Kaceytron banned for violating Twitch community guidelines

The exact reason for Kaceytron’s ban this time remains unknown. However, users who have tried to play content from her channel are getting the following message from the platform: ‘Content from this channel has been removed at the request of the copyright holder‘.

This indicates to the possibility of this ban stemming from a copyright infringement issue. The duration of this ban hasn’t been announced by Twitch. The livestreaming platform has not disclosed any details about the streamer’s misdemeanor either.

However, when the StreamerBans Twitter handle revealed that her account has been blocked, the streamer commented saying that she will do it again.

Kaceytron has been banned couple of times already

This is the streamer’s second Twitch ban. The first one was imposed in 2020 after she made insensitive comments, suggesting that the absence of economically disadvantaged and elderly people in the world will help with the Coronavirus pandemic. She further enraged netizens by posting that she wishes to flout the lockdown instructions and spread the virus as much as possible. After these comments, Twitch declared an indefinite ban for the streamer, which ultimately lasted a duration of merely ten days.

The streamer again landed in hot water after presumably using a racial slur during one of her livestreams in 2021. She was reported for using the N-word while streaming a Halloween special at the time. The streamer had come forward at the time, denying the allegations of her ever using that word, claiming that the people had misheard her. Some of the Twitch users and netizens are claiming that she was banned this time for the same reason.

Some netizens are definitely happy about Twitch’s decision to ban Kaceytron.

Others are claiming that the platform has made the wrong decision, going as far as calling the streamer a queen and demanding the ban to be lifted.

Some also believe that this ban is a way of Twitch discriminating against the members of LGBTQ+ community, condemning the platform for banning a member during the Pride month.
