Shutdown the Closure Satellites is one of three possible endgame missions in Armored Core 6. This will allow you to proceed with the ‘Fires of Raven’ where you encounter Ayre as a boss. Clearly, the automaton is not pleased with your decision to bring down the Xylem and is ready to do anything to stop you. Ayre informs that she is waiting at the Closure Station undoubtedly for a tough boss fight.
Defeating Ayre is quite the task and will require a combination of Brute Force and aggression to come out on top. There is no easy way around this mission and you need to stay the course with your strategy till you bring her down.
Armored Core 6 Ayre boss battle mech setup
Ayre is a tough boss and needless to say packs quite a punch. Of course, she can take as much as she can dish out, so you need a speedy build with some heavy firepower. Speedy is just another term for light on armor since you might need to make compromises in that department to make the best out of your equipment.
The best back loadout to face Ayre would be to use the Stun Needle Launcher VE-60 SNA. This can hold Ayre in place long enough to launch your attack. The best weapon would be to use either the DF-GA-08 HU-BEN gatling gun or the WR-0777 SWEET SIXTEEN shotgun. Dual wield either one of these for the best effect and most impact. Equipping one of each on either arm may not be that effective.
The DF-BD-08-TIANG QIANG is the best core for your build. You can pair that with the VE 42B leg unit for a build that can maneuver quickly around Ayre and take some damage. The FCS 0006 Abbot is the best FCS for this mission. You can go with the VP 20D generator which is more than enough to power this build.
Defeating Ayre in Armored Core 6
If you remember the Coral Convergence mission from Chapter 4, you’ll find that the Ayre boss fight is quite similar to that with the IB-01: CEL 240. But unlike that boss, Ayre only needs to be defeated once. The strategy is quite straightforward here: just hit hard, hit fast, hit often. The VE-60 SNA will aid quite ably in staggering Ayre for you to launch a full-fledged assault. Check out our detailed guide on how to defeat Coral Convergence boss in chapter 4.
Once free from the stagger, Ayre will try to maneuver herself in no definite pattern before trying to launch a wide range of attacks. These attacks are quite powerful and can deal a lot of damage. The barrages in particular are devastating. So, it would be wise to try and dodge the attacks as much as possible and stagger her again.
You need to land two hits with the Stun needle to stagger Ayre and then land as many shots as possible with the shotguns or maintain the barrage with the gatling guns. Trying to keep Ayre staggered for as long as possible is the strategy here. If you’re going with the shotguns, you’ll need to get close to land powerful shots which can backfire if Ayre gets free.
Quick maneuvering again is crucial to acing this Armored Core 6 boss fight. Repeat the stagger-hit process a few times to gain an advantage in battle. Always keeping Ayre in your sights and launching either a stagger or a damage attack will yield quick results, especially if you stay in close range.
Once you’ve defeated Ayre, you’ll bring down Xylem thus beating Armored Core 6 in deserving fashion. You can wait another 10 years for the next installment or find out what FromSoftware has in store for you in the New Game plus playthrough.
