Rubicon 3 is known to hold many great treasures, but none more mysterious than Coral. Wars have been fought on the planet for control over this unusual substance and with good reason. Coral is as dangerous as it is mysterious and therefore has great prospects when weaponized. Coral weapons in Armored Core 6 are quite worth the risk of acquiring and the wait.
Coral weapons are found late-game and pack quite the punch. They also come with some unique abilities which justify their appearance late in the game. These weapons rely on Coral Swam Intelligence to produce the desired effect whatever it may be. Hence they are among the most powerful weapons in the game. Since the entire story of Armored Core 6 revolves around Coral, weapons made from the substance are sure to put things into perspective. Here’s a look at what these unique Coral Weapons are and how to get a hold of them.
All Armored Core 6 Coral weapons
Coral Rifle (IB-CO3W1: WLT011)
This powerful rifle creates a chain of explosions to produce the desired damage output. The total possible damage output with this weapon is actually quite high but you have to continue charging the weapon to multiply the number of chain explosions.
Coral Oscillator IA-C01W7: ML-REDSHIFT
This is a powerful energy sword that can slash through enemies with a high DPS. When it comes to melee weapons in Armored Core 6, this is arguably the best one. The sword is quite long and offers enough speed to attack multiple opponents should they gang up on you. For sweeping attacks, you need to charge the beam before attacking though. There are many modes as well including a couple that can let you go full Optimus Prime. Read our detailed guide on how to get the coral oscillator in another post.
Coral Missile Launcher IB-C03W3: NGI 006
This is a highly advanced launcher created by Institute which can deal more damage the longer you charge it. This missile launcher is enabled with tracking and detonation control courtesy of the coral matter. This is a very powerful weapon once you know how best to utilize the damage output of the missiles. Essentially, you have to choose between damage output or area and speed.
Coral Shield IB-CO3 W4: NGI 028
This is a shoulder-mounted shield that engulfs the mech in an energy force field. It has high Damage Mitigation and Dampening to ensure that your AC is unharmed even during heavy strikes. The cooling period is also fairly good making this one of the best shields in the game.
How to acquire Coral weapons in Armored Core 6
Coral weapons are quite powerful and having access to one can substantially change the outcome of any battle. Rightfully so, these weapons are rare finds and will require a lot of grinding if you want to choose the loot route rather than shelling out COAM.
Arena matches
Arena matches offer access to a wide range of useful rewards provided you beat your opponents. Coral weapons are among the rarest and most valuable rewards you can acquire for beating matches.
Progress through missions
There are a few missions in Armored Core 6 that offer Coral weapons as rewards. While this may seem like a straightforward means of upgrading your arsenal, these missions are quite difficult to beat and require your mech to be well-equipped and at higher levels.
Just head to the Shop
The Shop is always a great repository of all things Armored Core 6, so finding Coral weapons once you’ve reached a certain point shouldn’t be that hard. What would be hard is finding the COAM to pay for said weapons.
The old school way through chests
Coral weapons can be found in chests across Rubicon, especially during difficult missions in the late-game chapters. However, this is through completely random spawning, and given the rarity of the weapons you’d need a four-leaf clover and a dozen leprechauns to get a hold of some.
Log hunt
The combat log hunting program is an effective way to gain rare loot including Coral weapons. While you need to hunt down quite a few logs to progress enough to level up, the rewards can be worth the grind. There are many ways to effectively collect combat logs as well which you can explore.
