While wandering within the hallowed walls of the St. Frangelico Cathedral, you are confronted by a very Soulslike boss right out of Pinnochio’s Nightmare. The Lies of P Fallen Archbishop Andreus boss is probably the result of how excommunications were carried out during the Belle Époque period. This monstrosity is just as dangerous as it looks and you know you are in for the boss fight of a lifetime.
You need to be well-prepared before heading into this boss fight. Facing Fallen Archbishop Andreus is a bit like peeling an onion, only the inner layer is much unhealthier than what’s on the outside. While the strategy involved in this fight is not all that complicated per se, the fact that you’ll be engaging with this monstrous boss for a prolonged period of time can prove dangerous, especially his most unique trait.
Without digressing any further, here is a guide to help you grant Fallen Archbishop Andreus passage into whatever afterlife awaits him.
Lies of P Fallen Archbishop Andreus Attacks
Taking a closer look at this boss’s myriad attacks reveals the most probable reason he fell from grace: his toxicity. Churches do not look kindly upon toxic characters. Engaging with this boss puts you in danger of getting affected by the Decay status effect. This is a menacing effect and when the meter fills, you begin taking acid damage. This effect can also decay your weapon rendering it ineffective over a prolonged period of time.

Here are the attacks that you are prone to when facing Fallen Archbishop Andreus in Lies of P:
Lick of Decay: For this boss, the tongue is mightier than the sword and he wields it like a whip lashing at his enemies and inflicting decay damage.
Claws of Death: This is the primary attack mode in the first stage of the fight and Andreus will strike thrice during each turn of this attack. This becomes a five-strike attack in the second phase.
Andreus Smash: A classic among the dissident bosses of Krat City, Andreus will clasp both his hands to smash you down.
Leap of Shame: This attack involves jumping up in the air like a frog and landing on the target. This is a decisive attack and cannot be blocked. In Phase 2 instead of leaping Andreus just moves around and squats on the target.
Acid Spit: A lethal attack unleashed in Phase 2 that deals decay damage.
Tail Attacks: The tail is a lethal weapon in Andreus’ arsenal and he uses it both as a mace and like a flail mimicking the actions of both.
Charge: Andreus in Phase 2 likes to charge at the enemy striking furiously in a single direction.
Light Show: There are a couple of energy beam attacks as well which can deal a lot of damage. These work similarly to the solar beam in Pokémon but charge fairly fast.
Needless to say, Andreus is armed from mandible to tail mace thing. So, finishing this battle as soon as possible is of utmost importance to come out on top.
How to Beat Lies of P Fallen Archbishop Andreus: Phase 1

The first level of this boss fight is a fairly easy one and you may even feel it somewhat benign. The tongue is the greatest threat here and you’ll need to stay away from it to avoid decay damage. The claws also can be deadly if you get too close. But you can simply execute a sideways dodge to avoid them. The leap attack is best avoided. You get ample time to see it coming and head to a point that is well out of Andreus’ way.
The clasped slams are deadly and are charged attacks, so you’ll need to execute a perfect guard to block it. This, of course, creates an opening to land a few strikes of your own. While the boss’s attacks are fast and furious, its movement is fairly slow in phase 1. You can exploit this by moving around fast and attacking from all angles where he isn’t capable of striking back. Unlike some other boss fights, here you’ll have to eliminate the entire health bar to unleash phase 2.
How to Beat Lies of P Fallen Archbishop Andreus: Phase 2

Once you’ve brought down the outer shell, Fallen Archbishop Andreus takes a moment to undergo metamorphosis. He opens up his upper shell-like rib cage and unleashes the true Andreus within. This new enemy is a slithering fiend and is very soulslike. Armed with a new appendage, the monster begins attacking again, this time more ferociously.
The new form of Andreus is only effective when the monster is. This actually opens up a great way to attack. If you are able to stagger the monster with an attack, the slithering Andreus falls to the ground almost paralyzed. You can target that part and strike with your heaviest attacks.
That being said, the slithering form is a dangerous foe when it is facing you. Its attacks are much faster and more lethal. The decay attacks in particular can be deadly. It is best to try and dodge these attacks some of which will require perfect guard and head to the other side.
The beam attack is a short but lethal window of opportunity. As soon as you see the monster open up a cannon-like orifice, you can head underneath Andreas to avoid the lethal beam. He is immobile through the course of this attack which will allow you to deal some damage from beneath.
Don’t head to the other side though because the slithering Andreus form will very much have its guard up as soon the beam is launched. So, timing is crucial if you are looking to strike. Above all else stay away from the beam at all cost; it is capable of knocking you out in one hit.
Every part of Andreus is fair game, so the attack strategy here is pretty straightforward. But, you will be dealing with two enemies at the same time, which is what makes this battle so difficult. As always summoning a Specter can be a boon beyond description allowing you to capitalize on the many weaknesses especially when staggered.
