As the lord in charge of governing your settlements in Manor Lords, the citizens expect you to make the settlement prosper and have it grow into a bustling town. A major part of this is upgrading your buildings and Burgage Plots to higher levels, and this is going to require plenty of Roof Tiles to make bigger houses.
Getting Roof Tiles in Manor Lords
To make Roof Tiles you first need to place a Mining Pit with families assigned to it on a Clay Deposit to mine Clay, then place a Clay Furnace and the families assigned to it will convert raw Clay into Roof Tiles. Keep in mind the Clay Furnace requires a steady supply of Firewood or Charcoal (Fuel) to function.
If you don’t want to produce your Roof Tiles in-house, you can also get Roof Tiles in Manor Lords by putting down a Trading Post, establishing a trade route for Roof Tiles, and starting an import trade for it. As long as you have Regional Wealth, you will have a steady flow of Roof Tiles being imported to your settlement.
Also, make sure that you have a Storehouse with families assigned so that the Roof Tiles can be carried from the Clay Furnace and be used when required. Any upgrades that turn a building from a wooden one to a stone building require Roof Tiles to upgrade.
The most important upgrade that will require Roof Tiles in Manor Lords is the Level 3 upgrade for your Church, after this, your next priority would be upgrading all your Burgage Plots to Level 3. Keep in mind however that the Clay deposit you are using to mine Clay will eventually run out.
To avoid this, you will need to find a Rich Deposit of Clay to put a Mining Pit over, then unlock the Deep Mining upgrade from the settlement development tree and apply the upgrade to that Mining Pit. Once you do that, you will now have an infinite supply of Clay as it will never run out. But make sure you do this before the deposit runs out.
